Missouri Sprint, your beef should not be directed at us the printer, as we send out all publications in a very timely manner as that is what we get paid to do. When magazines, news print periodicals, or anything time sensitive/dated we print are sent to the post office, it is beyond out control as to what the post office does or does not do.There is a form you can fill out at the post office that will actually track the path of any publication you want followed. They (the post office) are the ones responsible for the delay, as we are acutely aware that readers and subscribers want their reading material as soon as possible. That is why those publications are dated. When the printing process is done and all publications are ready to be sent to the post office, trust me that we have them directly in the hands of the post office. That is just part of our job, and we understand it is frustrating to wait day after day, not knowing where to turn to, or why you did not get a particular issue. After the post office takes delivery, it is beyond our control. Same way with torn or mangled issues that we see either returned to us, or delivered to the customer in a plastic bag. The anger/frustration should again be directed at the post office. If we sent out some of the crap I have seen the post office return to us due to a mangled address label, we would not be in business very long. Sprint Car & Midget magazine, as I understand it (I am not a subscriber but am a fan) has a great following and being here in Indiana I get it. They, like us, take pride in the product they put out. But to place blame for slow mailings, ripped, torn or shredded magazines on them or on us is simply blaming the wrong party. I hope this can help; try filling out that form at the post office and check out the travels of you book/magazine/newsprint publication and maybe the post office may actually step up and help you out. It is your tax dollars after all.

PS - It is no wonder the Post Office is always crying broke; if I had a business and ran it the way the PO does, I would be broke too! Always asking for rqate increases, etc etc is really getting old, and it is killing small businesses across this country. No wonder FedEx and UPS arre kicking the PO's asses: Better service, better product, and when wqas the last time you recieved something "late" or almost "destroyed" from the folks at FedEx or UPS? My guess is hardly ever?

Sorry, it's not your tax dollars. All of the revenue for the USPS comes from the sale of postage.

Also, comparing the USPS to FedEx and UPS is a bit of apples vs. oranges. USPS is the only one required to deliver to every address in the U.S., no matter how remote or costly.

One Reason the Post Office is Broke..http://www.ampc.org/blog/2010/07/why-is-the-post-office-broke/

Due to the usual government accounting standards, requirements and regulations, the USPS believes that they have over-funded the plans by $75 billion and they want it back. The amount of $75 billion is equal to a year’s income at the USPS.

The is not a current method to pay back over-payments. The only way the USPS can be paid back is by an act of Congress.
