I'll be there again this year. Does anyone know if Knoxville has a pool 25 meters long. I need to get my swim on, every morning, for at least an hour.

I'll be coming for the 7th straight year from Maryland to root for all of those Maryland drivers, lol.

As mentioned before, hands down favorite week of the year.

Going to be making the 318 mile trip from Redwood Falls, MN this year for my 14th strait year and 16th Knoxville Nationals. We will be there starting Wednesday afternoon for all 4 nights of the 410 Nationals.

I can't remember the 1st one I went the entire week to, but I think it was uin '84 and haven't missed any since.

Still remember the night that Bobby Allen won like it was yesterday (until Shaffer won a couple years ago, it hadn't been that loud since).

Lots of memories including the "rain-out" of 1987 when both prelims were held Saturday afternoon, the Finale "E" main hotlaps pushed off at midnight and a "special" Sunday night NQ show for anyone that wasn't in the main won by Billy Pauch.

Kinser's domination 86,87,88, 91,92,93,94,95, Wolfgang's charges through the field (86, 90), Wolfie's wins 84,85,89, Schatz heatbreak of finishing 2nd so many times.

The under-dogs including Carmen Manzardo (holding off Steve Kinser for a heat race win), Max Dumesney holding off Wolfgang in the Race of States, Robert Bell having a hard crash and the other competitors getting his car back together (the Casey's 6 tailtank, NEW tires bought by Danny Lasoski, Wings from different teams).

Can't wait to see what stories happen this year...

This wil be my 18th. Never been to a bad one yet. Some r just hotter and wetter than others. Saturday night has only been rained out 3 or 4 times in its history and ive been there for 2 of them. I learned my lesson i take monday off too. Lets all pray for the same weather we had last year!

I'm coming for my second time, on my way home to Colorado from visiting Mom on East Coast. Considering Belleville Midget Nationals first, depending how tired of driving I am (2-300 miles bactracking) Weather was beautiful last year after awesome thunderstorm, guessing it will be pretty toasty this year....

Thanks CaSprint Fan, I love to swim also. Last year discovered city pool in Des Moines right next to library, but too many kids to really swim laps.

Manzardo didn't win the heat, but he did hold off Steve for four laps! Same night of the controversy with Carson and Doty in 1984...

Coming down just for the last three nights this year from Sioux Falls. My son, who shares this with me every year, has a school thing Thursday morning so we cannot leave town until he is done with that. Will be watching Turn2 for the 360 Nats, Cappy Classic and Wednesday night.

5 hours from Sioux Falls to Knoxville - and the best route is I29 & I80. I do enjoy driving up IA141 from time to time, just to enjoy the countryside though.

Rooting for Dobmeier and any other underdog out there. Was great seeing Dynamite win at the WOO show at Huset's a couple of weeks ago!

Coming up the 4 1/2 hours from good old Sedalia Mo. for 4 days of the 410's. For you guys that are lucky enough to hang the whole 10 days, (lucky dogs) please give a yell out to my boy Jonathan Cornell during the 360's. Dingus or bust!

Shoot, you're just a baby then! I don't think I made the first Nationals, but I was at the second. Also remember third or fourth when it rained so much, they didn't start hot laps until after midnight. Got home about 5 AM and my mom made me get up and go to church. Had a long break after I got married until the kids were grown up and started going again in the late 80's or early 90's. By the way, greatly enjoy your posts. They're informative, and reasonable, with no bashing. Keep'm coming.

I'm coming from Minneapolis (5hrs), Uncle coming from cheeseland (6hrs) and a cousin from NoDak (10hrs). This will be my 3rd year, my uncle's 34th I think and my cousin's 1st. My cousin pits for a car up in Grand Forks, so he will be in for a big surprise when he gets to National's. At the least we will be there for all 4 days of the 410's.
