I just saw that Danica's team is trying to buy Blaney's qualifying spot for the Daytona 500. In return Blaney's team will get engineering help from Stewart/Haas, plus Reutimann will get some rides from them also.

Blaney probably would be a qualify and run 3 laps and park it. It is a money deal that has happened before There are all kinds of drivers in NASCAR that have never won a race and probably will not win a race in next 25 years. Danica will be a good driver in NASCAR.

You bring up a very very good point. Seems its okay to some that a sponsor gets there driver in to a spot but not okay for others.

Completely pointless comment when the one driver actually wins, and wins alot, more so than any other driver, which you continue to ignore. The other one, won (singular) by default. Apples and oranges. Troll on Washington troll, hahahahaha.

blaney can't have the ride because he still has the one he had. danica didn't take dave's ride.
tommy baldwin said dave has had to qualify for the 500 on his own for the last three years. he said he see's no problem doing it again.

all your talk about danica, danica, danica even if you are bitching about her, gets her more time in the media.
if she qualifies for the race on her own and doesn't end up needing owner points and has a good race all you people will still bitch. if she goes out and has to use the owner points and has a bad race, you will bitch.

No matter who the driver is, they all should have to qualify to make the race. If you don't qualify load up and come back next time.
This buying stuff stinks..... Heck, why not the 2 NFL teams with the most money buy there way into the Superbowl every year........ Skip the playoffs and show up for just the big game.

I love it...the t-shirt girl behind the wheel for tandem racing...next they should mandate that the 18 wheel hauler be each driver's tandem partner.

This is what is wrong with Nascar,you have two qualifying races to race your way into the big show,thats the way it should be,and the pole winner,must run at least half of one those qualifiers.No,more,top 35,previous winners,previous champions,or previous bow downers at the France throne,each and every car thats wants to race their way into the race get on the track,each and every week also,no more provisionals for anyone,even if your last name has two Capital letters,enough is enough. Then you will sell some tickets,this white washing the 500 is rubbish,always has been,run or stay home.

NASCAR driver and former IRL champion Tony Stewart, who said "I think obviously she's got talent; she's been successful in every form of racing she's been in so far and I don't see why she wouldn't be successful here [in NASCAR]."
seems Tony has spoken of this driver as well about how her talent level is. Here is the link in case you would like to verify it yourself.

I don't know why they even run the qualifying races anymore, they really don't mean much. They used to be great races.

I think that the most interesting thing about the upcoming NASCAR season is in the Nationwide Series. Measuring Danica's results with her teammate, Cole Whitt will be fascinating. AND I managed to bring this thread back to a sprint car theme.

One wins (male), the other (female) does not, so many see that as the issue, and because she doesnt win isnt worth the hype, the other does and is. Huge difference. Tim Richmond had family money behind him and basically bought his way in nascar. No one cared, because he won, alot. If she wins, then the $$$ to get her there was well spent. Just get use to alot of temper tantrums in the meantime.
BTW, the quote from Stewart was from 08 after she won her first IRL race, here is the rest of that quote "He expects more wins to come her way now that she has clinched the first one." How many has she won since then.......0.

Buzz, I have disagreed with you often on here. But you are completely spot on with that post. It seems amusing that people will write post after post arguing that Danica doesn't deserve the attention she receives, yet obsessively analyze every race she runs.
That is exactly the reason she has a part time Cup ride and a full-time Nationwide Series ride. No matter what her results are, people talk about her and want to know how she did. Honestly, I wonder how many racers in America are more well known among non-fans than Danica? I guess Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart and maybe Jeff Gordon. But beyond those three drivers, I can't imagine there are too many racers that even non fans know.

She is hardly a top-tier driver, more like a bottom half of the Nationwide series driver. Had one of the top 5 or 6 cars in Nationwide and she was always running around 20th, race after race and would only move up if top 20 cars would crash or lose a motor or tire. The only cars she could stay in front of were the low budget cars. Sad that someone who can sell t-shirts only can receive so much attention. Funny how your gender (Danica), your surname (Jr) or you race (Hamilton) can give you so so much attention from the media, but to be fair, Hamilton is a great driver, though the championship he won should be tarnished, but thanks to his race, it won't be. Massa should have been the champion, he earned it. What happened to that car to allow Hamilton to pass it is to this day is not talked about. Forget the guys name, but he must have turned the ignition off just for about ten seconds allowing Hamilton to catch and pass him. Me always smelled conspiracy in that thing.

LOL. heck i'll even let you claim danica as posse if you want. lol!!! its all good over here singlefile. hey one more little note that might be some what related. marshall sargent used to tell me that one boo is worth 100 yays. he said he didn't care why people were talking about him, as long as people were talking about him. back in the day, mike sargent had shine-on shirts make up hats that said "sargent sucks" to sell. mike made a bunch of money. not only on the sargent sucks hats, but on the regular sargent hats and shirts people bought to argue with the sargent haters. the thing is you can type "danica patrick" and just hit enter, and most of these people would go crazy falling all over themselves talking about her. of all the things i can think of to find fault in concerning danica, this is hardy one of them.
