as most of you know I can bitch and moan with the best of em,but I have to say Sat at the PAS was a great night.I don't very often watch the under card but I had my 8year old grandson Dylan with me and he wanted to see every race, man am I glad I didn't miss that senior race what a barn burner.
A speacial thanks to Nick Faas for making Dylan's night he was hootin an hooleren for the #4 all night and wanted to meet Nick and was not disappointed, also thanks to all the other Drivers who made his (and mine) night great.
ROB
PS also a BIG thank you to the turn4mob you guys came up with $300 for Lap4,14,and the 1st non transfer out of the B main great job

You guys need to get over the wing vs. non wing debate. Both groups are capable of producing some exciting racing. I actually think the PAS could benefit from some wing shows, but they continue to cater to a select few rather than building their resume. Oh well...
See link below; watch the entire clip...

Btw, I was at the PAS on Saturday...I enjoyed the show.

Check out The Illustrated History Of Sprint Car Racing, Volume One 1896-1942 by Jack C Fox. Look in the Index for wings and let me know what you find. Don

Nose 2 tail....1. Virgins sit on the front straight.Don't toss someone in the bullring to watch a rodeo for the first time. 2. If you hang out with people that complain about having to take a shower......3. If you can convince him that his experiance was mostly because of your choice of seating, I would be willing to sponsor im with a ticket to the next PAS Usac/CRA race. Yes...I will by him a ticket BUT!!!!He must sit on the front straight in a spot of my choosing. He will soon see the errors of your ways. If you are up to it, you can reach me at [email protected]. Butts are valuable, and your friends butt has value. Think about it.
P.S. PAS did a great job. And as for the support classes....Awesome racing. Now if we could get a good midget class...Just sayin.

Don,
Your history lesson conveniently left out the last 69 years, including the last 30 years that feature "wings".
I respect your passion, but the wings have made an important contribution too...
Did you watch the video clip? The "Hail Mary" pass in the senior sprints was exciting, but doesn't hold a candle to the Knoxville highlights. Check em out!

I WILL AGREE THE WEATHER WAS GREAT,, THE TRACK WAS GOOD UP INTELL MAIN EVENT TIME THEN IT TURNED INTO A BIG 'DUST BOWL ' FROM TURN 4 ,YOU COULD SEE CARS IN 1 & 2 BUT YOU COULD NOT TELL WHO WAS DOWN THERE OR TELL WHAT WAS GOING ON.. THE FRONT STRAIGHT GRAND STANDS AND TURN 1 DUST,,,DUST,,,DUST AND MORE DUST...THAY PUT WATER ON THE SURFACE WITHOUT RIPPING THE SURFACE FIRST, THEN WATER IT DOWN,,,AND BRING IT BACK,,,YOU KNOW EVERY TIME I BRING SOME ONE ALONG FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPINS ,, AFTER THE RACE HE SAID 'BULLSHIT',, HE WON'T BEBACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!! SAID HE WAS GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE A SHOWER BEFORE GETTIG IN BED ,,, THAY HAD ENOUGH TIME BEFORE THE MAIN EVENT TO FIX THE DAMN TRACK THE WAY IT SHOULD OF BEEN,,,,, THE CROWD COUNT LOOKED UP FROM RACES BEFORE ,,,,WHO KNOWS IF THAY WILL RETURN...OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT OF RACING ,,,,,SPENCER 1st........FASS 2nd,,,,,,,,,,SHOWTIME WAS 3rd.... BUT IN THE END THE 'DUST' WON OUT....ZZ

"THAY PUT WATER ON THE SURFACE WITHOUT RIPPING THE SURFACE FIRST, THEN WATER IT DOWN,,,AND BRING IT BACK"
I was at the track Friday evening. The track WAS "ripped", plowed, whatever you want to call it. The majority of the track had puddles from all the water put on the track.

The only contribution I see is another split in car counts! I can't stand the wings but I am planning on going to the Gold Cup for the event! I've been to 6-10 Wing Shows and I have seen less passes for position then the number of races I've been to!
That is the proof in the pudding to me! The main reason I hate them though is you can't even see the driver in the car! Honestly, it seems like you're watching a remote control race to me! Some people are Conservatives and some arr Liberal. Everyone has an opinion based on their experiences and I stand firmly on the NON Wing Side!

I had a great time Satur-day, and night. I arrived at the track early to see what was going on, and two easy-ups were already set up at 1:00 on the outskirts of the parking lot, (with more to come) with a couple of guy's getting things set up for their gathering of the PAS CREW. I introduced myself, dropped a few names, and then those boy's made me feel right at home. Man those guy's can cook!
It was good to see old friends like Rob, and meet people face to face for the first time; like Don Flanders that I've corresponded with, but never met in person. I had a great time sitting all the way down into turn one with Don and his friends. It's nice sitting with a group that's not only knowledgeable, but know how to have a good time as well... I haven't had a view of a track from that angle since Ascot. What a great track and facility
I thought the racing was great, and the formate was a lot of fun.

Sean, Take another look at The Illustrated History Of Sprint Car Racing, Volume One 1896-1942 by Jack C Fox. Turn to the Index and lookup the name GARDNER. As you can see p108, 113, 120, 129, 137, 139, 154, 159, 171, 309, 310, 315 & 318 all reference the Gardner Family. That's right, the Ronnie Gardner you saw in the Quick Time Number 93 Sprint Car Saturday night is a direct descendant of Ray Gardner, Chester Gardner, Paul Gardner, Dean Gardner, Raymond Gardner, Jack Gardner, Howard Gardner, Mary Gardner, and Jack Gardner Jr. who are all talked about in the book. The reason I enjoy and support no-wing racing so much is because of its undiluted direct ties back to the beginning of Automobile Racing. Like when Dave Despain on Wind-Tunnel asked Roger Penske a few years ago, "what could be done to improve Indy Car Racing?" Roger answered "Get Rid of the Wings" Don

I'll see you on October, and make sure you bring at least 3 chairs just for you... That way you just might have one to sit in.

A winged sprinter is a modified sprint car, a super mod if you will... Like em if you like, but don't be confused about what they were when they first put the wing on, and still are. They alway's have been, and always will be a modified sprint car. What did they used to call a Midget wth a wing? A modified Midget, that's what... OK, now what do you call a sprinter with a wing attached? All together now..LOL
