My rant would lead more toward, "all" racers did not come together at a crucial time. Hell we can't even get together on a common set of rules to make Oklahoma racing in all classes as strong or stronger than it was. That was obvious to the City leaders and they preyed on that, like a pack of wolfs.

I know there were several of us that fought the fight. But I also know who was there and who was not. OKCFan12, I never saw you at the meetings, nor did I see nonwing Bill. So you guys are even. The Fairgrounds Speedway was destine for destruction by our City leaders, but we all had a say in that by our voice. Only our voice was not heard.

That's the thing that upsets me the most, only about 30 people out of Thousands in our racing community showed up to show support. It's no wonder you lost your Track.

So like nonwing Bill said, Get over it. But that does not by any means say that we do not need to keep pushing our City leaders for a new track.

Guess I could'nt keep my mouth shut after all.

Allen, I would have to agree with you. Although, this is not a slam against racers as a whole. I understood after the fact that there were things involved that made some racers not fully trust some of the parties involved.

I do understand that the track is never coming back and never will. It is sitting in some rubble pile wherever Midwest wrecking's rubble pile is. If we keep letting the city officials know that there is interest in the Okc city area for a track then who knows there might be one. Although, I do admit the chances are low , Though nothing ventured nothing gained.

I was the person that set up the facebook page from the beginning. Not for a reason to self promote myself or anything else but more for a way to get information out to the general public. Before, I knew it the page exploded to things I never expected. There were people involved that wanted to save the track for the history and knowing what the track had. Then there were people that wanted to self promote themselves and wanted to make a name for themselves.

But, I do have to say the general core of people had good intentions and I did make some life long friends in the deal.

This was not a slam to all racers, Erich you did what you could. And for that I Applaud you. The thing is we need to move forward from here and unite.

That's what I have been saying all along. There is strength in numbers. (UNITE, UNITE, UNITE) can I not make it any more clear. UNITE.

Why is this so impossible. You people need to stop watching Gangland on your cable TV. That's pretty much how you are acting. In fact I may start tagging wings, what kinda BS would that be.

I'll keep this short but sweet Unc. You're exactly right. I did nothing. none of us did. i could go on forever about that but....i think for me, my own shame, i feel it every day - it speaks for itself.

But you are right in the most important way as well - moving forward we do have to UNITE. I fully 200% agree with you there Allen. It's our only chance. will comment later again after my family and I go enjoy the Thunder take on Miami. Will log in after then and hopefully talk about that and not some cross fading hypocrit with an interest in me LOL.

I dont watch that junk Unc.....I'd love to to have a trio conversation plus anymore constructive players about how to proceed moving forward. look forward to this chat later. you guys have a good day - hope mine is swell as well Smile

David, that is a great trip down memory lane. I love it. That place will always be in my heart and I will never get over it. It's the way I feel and I am not ashamed to say that losing SFS will bother me for a very long time.

Just as a reminder, We have some of the blue wooden bleachers left and some bricks from the grandstand if anyone wants to pick some up. These were collected by the amazing efforts of a few people and its the least I can do to help share it with others. Give us a call or come by.

I really need to get up there and get one of those bleachers, really do and quit talking about it.

I first mentioned and preached about the fairgrounds back in 2002 when it first seriously came up. I was on the phone and sent emails to other powers to be at other fairgrounds tracks around the country to give these people an idea on how it could be a very good deal financially if they opened their eyes.

I posted on here about the deal and we needed to do something back then (I remember cause I was with ASCS at the time and that was the talk in the pit area during that night when the tour was here). But people just blew it off "it isn't going to happen. We are okay."

I called the idiot Mayor and asked him questions that he answered and I posted right here. Funny now that I think about it, I made mention of the MAPS 3 proposal and got an email directly from him to not mention anything about MAPS 3. I now remember him and I talking about the Fairgrounds that when the MAPS 3 came up to vote, then issues with the grandstands needed to be taken care of.

I didn't start this to be a bash session but rather a chance for people to go back down memory lane as we are fixing to enter the second year without racing in OKC.

I don't think Erich or myself engage in any of that.

Especially in bad mouthing oragnizations and tracks. We don't do that dude. If you rewind (pun intended considering the name lol) - you'll scarcely find any of that. Dude even in private conversation Erich goes far in avoiding criticizing local tracks. I can't think of anytime in years recent I have been except for with Creek County Speedway. And even in then none of it was disrespectful or out of place. As a paying fan I went and was very unhappy with what I saw. It wasn't a personal issue...and hey on the bright side - their opener this year sounded much better than what I experienced last year - maybe it's the start of something better for them.

As to this - I responded to Bill initially because that seemed to be exactly what he was doing whenever Allen, Erich, or anyone else posted about SFS. As to anyone being proud of my posts....you're echoing the same redundant crap there man. I rarely post on any forum unless I am posting previews/recaps of our events. You're suggesting I put forward a wealth of negative stuff - and suggesting that as long as I do you'll police it lol. But sir it was you that in the recent future started blasting away at - as it ended up - several tracks and classes of cars.

I mean - it doesn't add credibility when you speak from two holes as opposed to one. Your short list of participation here does VERY little in backing up what you claim there. As I didn't even see until last night - in a topic that wasn't close to be negative - it was the opposite - you take aim at me and the form of racing I cover. And it was you that got a collective hammer dropped on you - more or less - when you started attacking e sprints, ncra, and everything in between (more or less lol).

So you're really here to police what Erich or I write? you are uttering nonsense. Little of what erich or myself posts is negative - and if that is your sole point of participation (especially when you lace it with hypocrisy)....go duck back under a rock. What your saying there is chopped at the knee by certain facts - the negative posts you have put on here - and they weren't replies sir - you introduced them.

And to your end point - yeah dude - I bet they are. Since I was asked to perform that task for them - I have more than fulfilled it. I'm confident I have done it very well and to every standard. And it's with that in mind that yea I'll stand behind my post.. I felt someone was repeatedly undermining the decades I, and others, had spent out there and the collective right to communicate about it to each other. The only thing I would back down from is....it was a tick over the top. As it sits up there is exactly how I feel he should read it - but initially I should have refrained from dropping the full bomb lol. But you keep throwing this crap forward like they shouldn't be proud - back your point up dude. show me all the negativity I've constantly put out there in the last year that you feel so compelled to address. That's a hollow request by the way...because I know what I say and don't......and I haven't introduced anything of that nature in hardly any quantity for a long, long time. THAT FACT - combined with the vast majority (as if there is really that many lol) of your posts brutally exposes the falsehood of what you just echoed above. One would be doing themselves a great disservice to take anything about you seriously before looking at a few of your past posts. As it's clearly not been exclusive to negative anything to draw out punk statements from you.

It is with these facts in mind that the bs you keep suggesting takes a different shape. But I'll be forward - yes I bet they are sir. That I would be compelled to defend the decades of racing I witnessed before current endeavors is both understandable and justified. And I don't believe it reflects poorly on either those parties or myself. Although, I do feel I owe Bill in apology in the exclusive sense that I took it slightly over the top.....how it is there is exactly how I feel it should be and I will not back down from that.

All ANY reader has to do is skim through your dozen posts prior to this and it completely shatters what you just said. Which makes this quite interesting....at the inconsistent rate you're wrapping rubbish in roses....I wander if I'm the only one sensing a bit of deja vu here LOL. time will tell. even with your point miserably shattered.......not even by my hand but just a few clicks.......is there a further personal angle you would like to pursue here? I'm getting the fleeting notion that there is more to this than the obviously hollow point you just brought.

and YET AGAIN......in the way you keep speaking to me you sound like you know me. But I don't have a clue who you are, I don't think anyone does lol. How about stop being rude (and thats putting it nicely) and introduce yourself. At the rate of and for quite some time now - you're addressing me like we're old pals. I'm thinking maybe we are wink if we're not.....then until acquainted.....you should address me in a far less intimate manner.

I called this week and Lawson Rd is still torn up. Mrs Edwards said to go east on Hwy 80 to I believe Collins Rd ( first rd west of Lawson) and go south across the tracks. Follow the detour signs back east and it takes you to Lawson.
