Cody's now traveling the states with the world of outlaws making him an "OUTLAW" pretty simple! If Im wrong then maybe they should change the name to world of posse....good luck Cody looking forward to meeting him at Cali races.

I think that most of us on the left side think pretty much the same on this. It doesn't matter where one of our local home boy's moves to in order to race, or with what group, he's alway's our guy, alway's.

think he's graduated to the next level folks. Just like the high school star that goes on to big time college sports and then graduates to the pros. Pennsylvania should take pride that such a fine young man raced and cut his teeth there, and now take pride in his career at the next level. He chose to leave Pennsylvania and race nationally, that means he's not a local star anymore, he's a local star racing nationally. The Jews and Arabs haven't been pissing on each others bushes as long as this whole who's posse debate has lasted, one very tiring argument.

Hodnett is originally from Memphis, TN and started his career there before running with the WOO for a few years. Then he came to PA. I agree that no PA driver has gone on the road with the outlaws and dominated, but Stevie Smith didn't do too bad. Most, if not all, of PA's best drivers over the past couple of decades have been content to run at home instead of going on the road full time. Cody has the skill. The biggest thing other than new tracks will be to adapt to the aggressiveness that the WOO drivers race with. It's no holds barred out there every lap with those guys. In PA they tend to race a bit more...well, clean. Clean racing won't get it done very often with the WOO.

I agree with you. I wish Cody well.

Was also thinking of Hodnett. Did he run a season or two with the outlaws? He had SOME success, but didn't sustain it if i recall. Look, not trying to get in a pissing match, just stating the facts. No PA posse member has come out and put a strangle hold on the outlaws, ever. I would have no problem with Cody coming out and whooping ass. Just saying history is not yet on his side. Even when the PA guys show up at other venues across the county, although they show respectable results, they are usually beaten by the outlaws.

By the way, finishing ahead of Dude and prince Kinser will not keep your outlaw dreams going. only winning will. That was my point. If Cody can break thru and win some, the future is bright. If he can't, both he and Lucas will be back in PA running. (not that there is any shame in that)

Looking at Hodnett, what team did he ever have on the Outlaw tour that was a force before he got there or after he left? Part of a three-car team with Two Winners? Ron Pack? It's not like someone else got in those cars and started cleaning up after Hodnett left or before he got there.

IMO, the rides he has had in PA (Apple No. 12., Hamilton No. 77, Kline No 22) have all been better than anything he was in on the Outlaw tour. More than just about every track or series out there, the most money wins most often on the Outlaw tour. To me, Hodnett would win a lot more on the Outlaw tour in any of those PA cars than the meh Outlaw rides he was in.

Please don't let facts get in the way of a Darrah family temper tantrum.

I may be wrong, but I think Leppo drove the Apple car after both Hodnett and Layton.

And didn't Todd Shaffer drive the Hamilton car for a good majority of it's final year? Hodnett has been as good as anyone in the country for the last 6-8 years. It'll be interesting to see what he can do with the Trone car.

Good luck to Cody this year. The car is awesome looking and has great resources behind him. I can see him being in a lot of dashes this year with his ability to qualify. He's going to have opportunities to win some races for sure. And, he is an Outlaw.

my take on what Cody Darrah is at the moment is best summed up by the legendary Happy Gilmore........Hi, I'm a hockey player, but I'm playing golf today.

Not disagreeing with you. But, if my aunt had... you get the picture. There are hundreds of drivers out there that could make it on the outlaws tour if they got to jump in the seat with KK racing or TSR. That being said, i think the talent has been evaluated pretty thoroughly and the very best drivers get the very best rides. That is not to say that if Joe Blow were given the opportunity to drive a KK racing car, that he wouldn't win a race or two, but a championship? I think the drivers with a chance to win a championship in the WOO are already planted in the seats of the big money teams.

It is like that in all form of motor sports. Everyone thinks that money is king. It is, but the big money goes out and gets the drivers and crews that are just a little better than the rest. Why would anyone settle for almost as good if they can afford the best? I think KK found a diamond in the rough with Cody, but only time will tell. He may not make it. That doesnt mean he sucks. Just means that he wasnt quite as good as the rest of them he is competing with. Money or no money.

Fred Rahmer was the last driver of the Hamilton 77 before Al's retirement.

is this reference to the famous end of season meltdown where Rahmer drove the car for Hagerstown for the very last race of the season?

Are you saying its Rahmers fault that Hodnett ended up in the 22? FWIW Rahmers meltdown in the 22 lasted nearly a full season. LOL!

KKR Las Vegas Recap
Joey Saldana scored his first win of the 2011 season for KKR on Wednesday night in Las Vegas while Cody Darrah continues to inch closer to his first win with solid performances on Wednesday and Thursday night.

Joey Saldana, driver of the #9 Red Bull/Sage Fruit/ASE Maxim
It was a night of firsts on Wednesday for Saldana at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He fought off late charges from Jason Meyers and Donny Schatz to earn his first victory of the season, the first World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victory of his career at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the first win for new sponsor Red Bull, and the first victory with new crew chief Kale Kahne begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting.

Saldana started alongside Kasey Kahne Racing teammate Cody Darrah on the outside of Row 2. Darrah swept to the lead past polesitter Terry McCarl on the green flag with Saldana powering his way to the front a lap later for the remainder of the 30-lap event.

Joey’s quotes on the win
"When you are competing out here with the likes of [Steve Kinser's crew chief] Scott Gerkin and [Donny Schatz's crew chief] Ricky Warner, it says a lot when someone can come out here and set a car up that wins. We had a great run with Willie Kahne as crew chief but I'm really looking forward to what Kale and I can do together as we get into this season."

Saldana followed up the win with another strong performance on Thursday night. Saldana followed up Wednesday night’s win with a runner-up finish. He finished third in his heat, fourth in the dash and qualified six before racing his way to a second place finish and moving into the second position in the point standings,

"This is traditionally not one of my best race tracks," said Saldana. "To come out of here with a win and second-place finish is huge for us and gives us a lot of momentum heading into the California races that begin next week."

Cody Darrah, driver of the #91 Great Clips/Sage Fruit/ASE Maxim
Cody Darrah continued to prove that a win is in his near future. Darrah finished third in his heat and third in the dash on Wednesday night. He started the A main from the third position and shot to the lead within the first lap. He remained a contender all night and brought home a fourth-place finish in the #91 Great Clips/Sage/ASE Maxim.

On Thursday night, Darrah finished fourth in his heat, qualified fourth and brought home a fifth-place finish. His fourth top-five of the season. Darrah is now third in the point standings.
