Hey Fast, where in this state do they run these cars and pay more??? If your gonna call it robbery, you should at least have a comparison. Otherwise that is the PREVAILING pay scale!!!

$2000 to win but there are a couple of shows paying $3000 and $5000 to win. Check the sprint schedule at www.racencra.com and click on the sprint car schedule and I the "to win" for those events are posted.

Announcer, You know I may be barking up the wrong tree ! I planned on switching from my modified to a sprint car but after finding out that an e-sprint motor cost $ 5000 to $ 7500 to be competitive and the promoters (who ever you are) are only paying $200 to win and $40 to start I thought man both groups are crazy. The promoters are getting away with this lousy pay out only because the e-sprint owners are allowing them to do so DUH !!!

Fast, just like every class , you know this very well as well being a mod racer, there will be those that will mortgage their house for a motor to win 500 bucks. I have heard of some skyhigh amounts on motors as well in e sprints. I sit back and shake my head at the price. I do know, trust the information, that one of the e sprint motors from last year that was competitive was built for about 5 grand. How much was your mod motor to be built? You do not have to say the exact amount but was it in the 5 grand range? Would I like to build a competitive engine for less than 3 grand sure. My pocketbook would feel happy as well.

To give you a somewhat comparison on motor costs for sprint cars. A champ motor will run near 9 on the low end to skies the limit on the top end.

I am just getting started on my car. I have already spoke to one of the promoters about engine rules and such. If fact I need to call one of them again. I know there are a few others that are watching the class very close this year as well. If the promoters would pay 6 to 8 to win for e sprints you would see engine costs double to even triple in cost. I would suggest you call one of the promoters and discuss this with them. I know one of them is easy to get ahold of and welcomes your questions.

Unfortunately in racing we have to keep up with the Jones's to stay competitive. Not saying it is the right thing to do but it is just the nature of the beast.
