Carwash, I have enjoyed watching the free broadcasts that USAC has done the last couple of years. I appreciate those a lot. But if I have to pay for it, I'll pass it up. I've never watched anything on Dirt Vision (old puter couldn't handle it anyway). One thing I do miss is the old racenet.com broadcasts from the early season races at Lincoln and some of the outlaw shows from a few years ago.

Well, if you are stuck back home because of work and one of the cars you sponsor is down there racing it sure would be great to watch to see how they are doing.
Perhaps you should all drop your internet service and become pen pals!

Well Mr. Burch maybe I don't have gobs of $ like you apparently do to blow on watching races on the web several times a year, let alone a sprint car.

I'll never pay to watch or listen to a race online. I'm either at the track or I'm not.
|
I tried to sign up for free audio last week but I won't tell that story again or you'll liken my rantings to a Sammy Victory Lane interview.
I'm with you on that Petey, if I stumble across a site broadcasting audio of a race and I've got something to do in my office I'll listen. Racing is something I enjoy outdoors in the summer, not hunched over a computer in the man cave in the middle of February. Remember waaaayyyyyy back before the internet when we had to wait two weeks for NSSN to find out who won in Florida? Quite a few times I had already forgotten about it by the time the results became available. I grew up in a time when dirt track racing was hands on and I'd ask the family "what do you want to do, go to the drive in or the races?" Now it's like this big important deal where nobody can survive if they don't listen live and watch the hilites on Youtube. When did that happen?

Ouch!
If there were no sponsors there probably wouldn't be too many racers.
So "apparently" I should not work so that I would not have to earn the money to afford to sponsor a car so they could not race so that way I would not have to "blow" any money to pay to see it?
Brilliant!

$35 for 5 nights on Dirtvision last week. I don't think that is a wad of money. $7/night and seemed pretty cheap to this poor race fan.

Why pay for cable/satellite TV? ... Everybody should go to Hollywood and be a part of the studio audience for their favorite shows.... And everybody who can't afford to travel to Hollywood should have to wait to read the reviews/episode synopsis in the newspaper a day or two later... double

I am also stuck in Iowa & don't have $1,000 or so lying around to pay for gas, hotel room & food, plus tickets to the multi night show. So, not being as wealthy as some here seem to be who advocate attending the races instead of moaning about the lack of internet coverage; I too would appreciate some kind of coverage of what I think may well be interesting & exciting racing.

I didn't include LM's or Mods because I'm not watching them. True, it is a hell of a bargain, but I'm satisfied with the 5 nights of Sprint coverage.
So I take it no 360 coverage. Well, I'll wait til morse code messages me or the pigeon gets here.

I think he would have been satisfied (as well as the rest of us) on either a "yes" or "no" answer but I forgot that can't happen.

I'm still waiting on my first disability check so $35 is like a fortune to me now.
Mark, it's certainly different if you have a car down there. If that were my case, I'd be willing to pay too.
