I use the rationality of the thoroughbred factor. He's given back so much to this sport in our corner when he didn't have to. He also drives the wheels off of everything he sits in. He has the skill and he has the will. As long as he doesn't say anything bad about my parents(no they're not brother and sister) he's fine with me.

Tell you whuuuuuut. If all it took to win the Triple Crown, the Brickyard, and the Chili bowl was to be an embarassment (?) to the racing community, I'd gladly take that job! I find it more embarrassing(not spelling long words is embarras...embars...never mind) when fans don't recognize a driver with the gift.

While my thoughts differ than that of many, I like Tony and don't blame him for speaking out. Nobody else will do it so why can't he? He is correct, NASCAR is a joke and almost scripted like WWE. You have your Golden Boy (yes I am a huge Jeff Gordan fan but fact is fact), you have your on-track trouble maker who nobody likes (Busch) and you have the driver who tells it like it is and pulls no punches (Stewart). You have another driver living off his daddys name (Kyle Petty) and you have a driver who is only liked because he is the famous son of a famous driver who nobody liked before his death (Dale).

I like Stewart but don't necessarily like everything he does but he does tell it like it is and how he feels without kissing butt. To me, Tony is no embarrassment.

Without kissing butt?? Where were you when he came back out of meetings with nascar people and said sorry, he didn't mean what he said, and how wrong it was for him too say it, or what ever that weeks brain fart was! Are you sure you follow nascar and the drivers very much?

Guess what?!!!!! Many of your legendary drivers are like that. Behind closed doors there is venting, compromises, and outright dealmaking. Don't mistake being flexible and respectful for selling out. There is a differance. I have heard Tony whine for the last 11 years but he never had the regularity we have found with you.

AJ Foyt would not only come out of a meeting like that with Tony Hulman, he would also buy him lunch. Go too far with hardheadedness and you end up dead, or worse---without a ride.

PS- have you even been around long enough to know who Hulman was?

I would have to agree with David too.I'm a huge nascar fan.I think those guys are so lucky to race at that degree.I am glad Tony says it like it is.I love Jeff Gordon, and Jimmie Johnsons driving skills.Dale Jarrett was a class act.Dale JR.has always been a whiner. However he is doing alot better now with Hendrics.I cant wait every week to watch nascar. They are all racers at heart and it would be so hard to keep up with all the stuff that comes with nascar.I think it would take alot of the fun out of it.We get to just go race .They have tons of interviews,And don't forget all the HATS!!!! L.O.L

Good to see stewart acting more like a pro these days! It has to do with the fact that hes not racing on other peoples dimes no more.

Funny what the nascar guy (Hunter) or whatever his name, told stewart, behind closed doors, he said to Tony, "You need nascar more then nascar will ever need you, theres thousands of monkeys just waiting for a chance to race at this level"! In the end old 'listen to how bad I am' Tony dropped to his knees! I am stilll laughing at him a few weeks ago for getting upset that the earnhardt fans were booing him! Gordon not only has tony beat in stock car racing ability but also in class.

So why dont you drop to your knees for this guy Hunter or whatever his name is since you know so much about this and become his monkey and drive in Nascrap. Your a joke dude you have no idea what goes on in those meetings so you take you some cheese and go enjoy your whine cause thats all you ever do when you post on here. Tony would rather get booed im sure than laughed at like you are getting. Give him a rest and change your name because believe it or not your not his fan.

I agree David...............That is real analysis of the facts !

If more drivers laid it out like Tony , maybe Nascar would make some needed changes.

I had always been a huge NASCAR fan until the past few years. Now I feel it's a joke. I still watch some of the races and I actually like the COT but the debris yellows, the lucky dog and the rest of the orchestration of the races wear me out. I think a lot of the drivers are top notch and I think Jeff Gordon is the best race car driver this generation has ever seen. That being said, Tony Stewart is a whiny punk. He always has been.

His behavior in NASCAR isn't much different than it was when he was winning in USAC and the IRL. His talent is tremendous but his demeanor is attrocious. He is the worst tempered "big time" racer I've ever met and I've met a ton. I'm sure Home Depot really appreciated not having that 45 or 60 seconds of additional air time from Tony.

Has anyone ever thought that maybe NASCAR loves Tony for his behavior? Talk about WWE-type tactics....

That's just about all the reason I see him as one of the best things in Nascar Today. Maybe Wild-thing is catching up to him....but ....most of the rest just do as Nascar Policy dictates.

Tony on the other hand is a Rebel and knows a bad call and bad management when he sees it, and says something about it. He stands up for what ever he says and doesn't HIDE behind all kinds of legal barricades and all the silly west coast veggie crap that comes out the rainbow vineyards of Gordons mind.

Yes you are spot on, Nascar Loves Tony when he complains about issues, it attracts the media and appartly he has attracted your attention. Its all about attention, bad or good, its all good to Nascar.

Oh I'm sure Home Depot loves the clown faced kid who wins races by watching the weather channel, ....yeah....they want Tony back.....he kept the Big Orange in the spot light all the time...and sir that's what pays the bills.

MM.

You were not in that meeting buddy.

If Tony was big enough to admitt a mistake or take it on the chin to save his team ( Business) then so be it. he will grow and learn, but in no way is it a black eye for him or his team.

Tony is #1 in points and his owner/driver team is making history just like his rookie year.

What in Hell is it about people around dirt tracks who just can't thrive on the success of racers but rather search out crap to say abut them and defame them at every turn......?

Tony is Taking care of business, if that is some how alien to you, well I can't help you.

We will all see what the season ends up with. My money is on the #14.

No fan of his??? Because I don't like the fool he played??? I was a fan of Earnhardt too, but I didn't like or agree how he played around and screwd over wifes and kids, all the time. Poor Jrs head still messed up because of the way he wasn't brought up!!

Stewart is one h-ll of a skilled driver, and on being a human hes improving!

Daa...aaammmm!!

T. M. I. dude.......

I care, but.....can we just like or dislike according to the talent and ability and the show and the race drama......isn't that enough.

As long as they perform and the show goes on, I will leave their personal life and how they want to deal with it alone. None of my business.
