The best young 410 driver... GOT to be the new Australian sprintcar champion James McFadden. Has also been in the top 5 or so in the last couple Grand Annual Classics as well, pretty sure he was the top finishing Aussie this year. Give it a few years and he'll be runnin WoO

Kyle Larson for sure. Have seen this kid wheel the hell out of a sprintcar from day he climbed in. He's easy on equipment and races clean all while being on the hammer. Zimmerly stands on the gas as well but I don't think with out his financial backing he would last to long. I have seen him tear up alot of equipment this year. Larson for sure straight raw talent.

Well lets see......TK, Allard, BK, and Bud Kaeding aren't chicken liver. Also he ran really well at the Chili Bowl...A main against the best in the business. Plus he ran damn well in a inferior car last yr. at the Gold Cup(a-main). Plus he can wheel a non-wing 410 with the best of them. Conley is good, but has much more to spend and I don't ever remember him winning the English Creek Nationals. I could be wrong. Anyway's all the above mentioned are great talents in their own right, but to say you like to see him run against the best.....well he's already done that with over a 100 cars there(Gold Cup).

I truly forgot about Gold Cup, and he was impressive there. It's still a toss-up.

Kyle Larson has my vote. That said, Zimmerly has been damn impressive and will be a force for years to come as he continues to hone his skills. He is already a consistant top 5 threat out here in Cali. Now the reason I picked Larson is simple, he is a pure driver. He can put the car where the car "needs" to go and he can put the car where "he" wants to go. Rarely does he tear up equipment and he has been getting an education in clean, aggressive racing from the Kaedings and Allard. I honestly think Larson could make the A main at Knoxville Nationals in his rookie year. Yes, he is that good. He does have big track experience... Calistoga is a big ol gal and Larson flys around there in a non wing 410, midget and winged 360/410's. Yeah I am a pretty big fan of his...LOL.
Good luck to all these young hot shoes.

From 2 years ago when he was 15 I think. Started 19th and made it to 6th on a notoriously hard to pass track.

Maybe Knoxville should dump the World Challenge on Friday night in favor of a "Young Guns" race?

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. The World Challenge race not that exciting. The "young guns or future stars race could be open to drivers under 21 years old.

Who is your pick for the next big sprint car superstar in 410 racing? We have several young guns winning 410 races this year such as David Gravel, Cap Henry, Kyle Larson, Zack Zimmerley, Brent Marks, Aaron Ott and more.
My vote goes to Kyle Larson. He has three GSC wins this year and a few more 360 wins at Ocean. He also made the A main at the Chili Bowl.
Who is your pick and what other drivers should be mentioned?

Knoxville's Josh Schneiderman in the 49 and Austin McCarl in the 17

Kyle Larson has also been very impressive running non-wing with USAC/CRA @ Calistoga and Perris. No question concerning his ability with a wing. His road to NASCAR or the IRL may be through Indiana and non-wing USAC though. JMO. Great young driver as is Zimmerly, who seems to be on a roll now after learning the ropes from the McMillans.

Ive been a fan of Kyle Larson ever since I met him in 04 at English Creek Speedway . You could tell even then, that he possessed special talents in regards to handling a racecar. In the last 6 years, he has proven that he can drive (and win) in almost anything from a outlaw kart to a full 410 Outlaw Sprint and everything in between.

I think Gravel's new crew chief has helped him. He did look good during speedweek but a year ago that kid was scary!
Kyle Larson gets this crown for sure. Pure natural talent behind the wheel
do it in the dirt

Cody Darrah isn't that old. Just saying.
I think it's refreshing that there are 5-10 drivers worthy of discussion on this topic. Most are regional racers... not going coast to coast with any regularity... and all are doing some good things despite their lack of years.
Makes you smile a little when you think that there is an influx of quality drivers on the way up.

I love the idea of a Young Guns race, that would be cool. Way better than what they do now I think. May have to expand the age a little maybe to 25 to get a full field of cars though.
