For the last 3 years the absolute HIGHLIGHT of my work week has been coming in on Monday morning and telling my dad and cousin what Hockett had done over the weekend.....some of my favorites were...
Came from last in the B to run 3rd inches from a win against USAC AT ELDORA WITH A 360!! Then flew to Arizona to win the final sprint race on the half mile at Manzy on Sunday afternoon in a car he had never sat in...
Came from the back after spinning to run 2nd to Herrera in IL.
Borrowed a wing after arriving late to Osborn, MO to win an ASCS Midwest show.
Swept all 3 nights of the 360 portion of the Western World and was leading the 410 race with 2 to go when the motor grenaded.
Won 2 features on the same night with USAC in PA.
And the 2 most recent....Went 3 for 3 this weekend...Currently leading the Sprint Bandits non wing points and only 3 points behind Stewart in the ASCS National Winged points...
I have decided that I can still carry out this tradition. Today I was able to tell my dad about the outpouring of love at races all across the country and that my good friend Adam Jones finally got his first sprint car win at the Rocket Memorial at the newly renamed "Jesse Hockett's Double X Speedway" in the car he purchased from Jesse over the winter. Next week I will be ready to tell dad "Remember that weekend that Jesse_____________________"?
The man may be gone but the legend will live on.
Here's the bump I promised you TBird... I know you are busy today. Sorry I couldn't be there.
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

I remember that race at Cameron, with the wing...and they ran out of gas on the way to the track,lol....remember when he had that pavement car with him that night too....after jesse won that night they headed out to Virginia to run that pavement car. The night after the pavement race was the Daniel McMillin Memorial race....they drove some 18 hours after that race, and the pulled up to Lake Ozark Speedway just as the gates were opening....then pulled out that pretty pink car, mmm-mmm-mmmm....thats whats up....remember that weekend jesse did that????

Remember that weekend that Jesse drove the Loyet midget at the Chili Bowl, on his qualifying night, in the A-main, about 4 laps in to it he lost his front left shock....remember how he just stayed on the gas to keep the car up, and managed to finish 7th! Wow....now, THAT was some driving boys! Go get 'em Jess!
Tbird
(I still remember being pissed that I didn't record that one on video....damn it.)

Guess what TBird.....I am pretty sure I have the Greg Stephens Motorsports video package of that years chili bowl...Which would include that qualifying night....the camera won't be focused on the 05h the whole time but I bet there is some good footage of the boy...
I will make you a copy....I'll be at the Sprint Bandit show at Wheatland on the 19th, the Daniel/Jesse Memorial at LOS on the 26th and at XX on the 27th.... Let me know which of these shows you will be at and I will find you.

The more I think about it I realize I have quite a few videos that show Jesse puttin on a clinic....
I have the Mills Motorsports Video of the Copper on Dirt from a few years ago...the one where Jesse came out of the B in the sprint car to battle for a top 3, he had a hell of a duel with Keading in the Silver Crown car for the top and he made the A in the midget but dropped out...I am also planning on recording the ASCS race on VERSUS tomorrow... I may also have the 2004 Knoxville nationals A main...I will build you guys a heck of a video by the 26th...
And trust me it's doing me more good than you to do this for you. I finally found a way to help you guys out somewhat and I love it.

RacinBoys TV links with Jesse.
Here is a link to all the ASCS Shows for the last two years. Just scroll through the list of shows to find all the Jesse segments. They are labeled and easy to find. https://www.racinboys.com/racintv/video_view?channel_id=3
A couple of my favorites
Jesse Hockett Tribute http://www.racinboys.com/racintv/video_view?video_id=2403
Scott, Kirk, Jesse and Tony Bruce talk with Sprint Bandits winner Robert Ballou. Check out the battle of words between Jesse and Robert. http://www.racinboys.com/racintv/video_view?video_id=2339
The Boys and Jesse Hockett review Jesse's win at the ASCS Midwest Region event at U.S. 36 Raceway. Jesse ran the new rig out of fuel on the way to the race, plus they forget the top wing. Jesse also talks about Daniel McMillin and his Memorial race at LOS. http://www.racinboys.com/racintv/video_view?video_id=1633
The Boys and Jesse Hockett open the show. Jesse talks about his headset being stretched out. FYI..Brian Brown was in the studio the week before and said the chair was stretched out. http://www.racinboys.com/racintv/video_view?video_id=1472
Tony Bruce Jr. outlasts Jesse in a thrilling race, to win the 2009 Nebraska Cup.http://www.racinboys.com/racintv/video_view?video_id=1931
The last show with Jesse, guest Gary Wright. http://www.racinboys.com/racintv/video_view?video_id=2384
Scott and Kirk talk with Jack Dover and remember Jesse Hockett. 10:45 into this segment memebers of the ASCS family speak of Jesse. http://www.racinboys.com/racintv/video_view?video_id=2390
Remembering Jesse Hockett: http://www.racinboys.com/racintv/video_view?video_id=2386

I was just watching the show "3 WIDE LIFE" and saw a nice tribute in Memory of Jesse Hockett at the end of the episode. I wasn't expecting it and it really put a smile on my face to see it.
Thank you to the writers, producers and cast of 3 Wide Life for airing that.
