If you have an enclosed trailer, be sure to check with the pit steward. Last year they were going to park the enclosed trailers in the pits.
Also, time will be short, cars will be many. SO, we get 2 sets of hot laps only. 3 after the regular hot lap session, and the second set will be during intermission.
After the second set of laps(during intermission), they are supposed to have a gate down by turn 1 open-this will allow you to go through and display for a while, should you wish to. After the sprint A feature, many fans leave early, and this will give you time to let them see your cars up close. Keep in mind, it is certain that a few "future" vintage participants will be coming through there.
After my stint is done on the infield, and I am able to get over to the other side, consider me your helper if you need any help getting your car loaded. You show up, I work for you.

Trammel, Was going to try and meet you Sat. but came up to look at all the cars and you looked as if you were thrashing on the 91 car with issues. So just thought it be best to stay away and let you get needed work done , only got to see you guys run once.
Brian the old frame sure does look different and the white 2 in honor of Harold I would guess.
I guess you all there had a good time?

JD sorry I missed talking with you. I was looking forward to meeting you. The fuel pump had a mind of its own . It had stuck brushes and started leaking out of the bottom. There will be another night to get back on the track. Ada was the best sprint car racing I have seen in some time. I will be going back to watch. The track was really dryslick and changed at different spots with good banking rutsand all. They put on a great show. I hope Brian wasn't let down and we will get to go back and put on another show. JD don't forget about the Nance parts. Will talk later about that.

Trammel , Like I said , seen ya thrashin and know better to talk when it is like that.Read on the other thread about fuel pump brushes sticking and then leaking fuel , oh the good times with electric Holley Blue/Red fuel pumps, those were the days. Been down that road . LOL
Ada is quite the track for Sprints I think , punch the loud pedal haul er off in the turn and go and lot of fun to watch them race on.

Since I was a spectator at OSP Sat. night and not a participant , got to observe some things that when you bring a car you don't have time to take it all in.
First and foremost sure like OSP's Ice Tea it sure is tasty, about the best tea served at a dirt facility other than Cowtown Speedway in Ft. Worth,Tx. It is Consistantly good EVERYTIME!!.
Really enjoyed watching the Vintage Cars Hot Lap, just need a few more of them and you can be like the KAR and have multiple Hot Lap Sessions like at 81 last year. Just stay at it and it will grow.
I just wonder what a wingless sprint show would be like at Ada?, and also just how many would run a wingless show? The place is wicked fast with or without a wing and the margin of error is slim to none and a slight slip up and things get ugly quick!
How about the Bus frame with Large tractor tires to pack the track with, now all tracks should buy a bus from their local school and help out the school as well as continuing the recycle program and also be able to furnish there own packin vehicle.
Ada turned from sand
fun and sun to sand grit and grime with all the rubber laid down and wind blown to the grandstands. Geroge should open up a Q Tip stand as I am sure sales would be brisk after the races.
Was a good show from start to finish , had some great racing and had a little bit of everything for the fan.

When your young the dust and dirt didn't matter. But I don't think with usually just 2 classes at most tracks the track didn't get as bad as now days. My memory is probably gone but it sure seemed that way. I can remember some tracks that would suck your shoes right off after the races and there was no dust. There were exceptions.
I remember going to Bethany, MO on a labor day weekend for an outlaw (not WoO, it might have an nsca? show) sprint show before Knoxville. They started the 1st heat the dust was so bad. I was on the infield and was afraid to move even after they red flagged it, cause you couldn't see. They canceled the show. It was an afternoon race at the fairgrounds. I believe this was 78 or 79.
That is one of the reasons I don't go to races. That and some I've been to don't get over until after midnight, some way after midnight. You just set there and eat the dust and rubber. I'll bet I'm not the only one that don't go because of that. 81 Speedway is an exception to the time, but the dust and rubber is just as bad. Maybe it has changed since they have put new clay down a couple of times in the last few years.

Anymore it seems it is all about the back gate and how many classes can you run , 5 maybe 6 , I guess they look at it as each pit pass is like 2 fans in the stands when it is $25 for Pit Pass nowadays.
I think that is why the races get over with after midnight at some places , with 5 to 6 classes and some crashes and you lose that 3 hr. window all these racing magazines talk about when trying to show you how to increase fans and get new ones for the sport and also with say 6 classes and they avg. 15 per class and have all different types of tire rules they have to run , just makes the track take a beating today , not to mention wind and sun which just magnify things.
2 or 3 classes is enough , but with lack of promotion today with dirt tracks , no way can they make it on just that many classes , then they would need fans in the stands to pay the bills and I just wonder if some even know how to get them in the stands on a weekly basis anymore.

Trammell, I'm glad you came anyway. Communication was bad with the track officails, more like non-existent. Very little went as planned.
