The chance of Lutar winning the WoO championship this year are better than Dave getting a "good ride!"
I don't think Dave...Jeffy....Tony...Kasey....Ryan...all former open wheel guys...will trade what they have for anything else. Even as a S/P guy Dave is doing well.

Some of you guys act like "start and park" has never happened in Sprint Car racing. Most times when the Outlaws are in an area where the car count is going to be low, some start and park teams will show up. The biggest "start and park" race I used to see year after year was the Outlaws on the Syracuse (N.Y.) Mile. The last half-dozen cars minimum used to drop out and collect their $1,000 by the second lap. The race summary from that race was always hilarious because there would be guys dropping on lap two and the reason listed for the DNF would often be "out of fuel."

It's not like the S & P cars are somehow out qualifying better teams that would race if given the chance. The only people they out qualify are OTHER S & P teams.
And if somebody thinks they want to race all day, but can't outrun the S & P teams in qualifying, then they'd just get in the way anyway.

Was just watching cup practice from Fontana. DB was making a mock qual. run. DW mentiond the S&P subject. Said Phil Parson's told him "when there is NOTHING on the quarter panel, we CAN'T race. If there is SOMETHING on the quarter panel we WILL race."
DB was about 24th in qual. trim, 2nd among the go or go homers. With only 3 cars going home, he should be able to get in.
HOPEFULLY that'll get them a little SOMETHING on that quarter panel.

He is next to last for qualifying this afternoon at Fontana. We shall see what happens. Hope he makes the race.
If he does.....anyone have a guess on how many laps before it is parked?
My guess.........is a two-parter......first yellow or lap 31.
I MIGHT HAVE TO RETHINK THIS. DAVE WILL START 5TH...IF IT DOESN'T RAIN!

Blaney qualified sixth for the race Sunday. I think his best for quite a while.

Remember what NASCAR was and think of what it has become. Top 35 guaranteed, start & park, provisionals and the lucky dog. It ain't racing anymore, it is a joke! And, wait until Danica makes her Cup debut. What a circus that will be.

MRN is showing him starting 5th.
Hope he didn't use all his motor in qualifying.
Dave is too good to be starting and parking a car.
But.....look at the money!

Just in case people are confused, there are no start and park teams in the top 35. People are NOT taking the locked in spots and parking.
For anybody who's excited because Blaney qualified 6th, the top 35 cars qualified in race setup, not a special qualifying setup.
Hopefully, it will still get them a sponsor for this race.

California is not an impound race so even the top 35 had some sort of setup to run two laps. That was a hell of a lap by our guy Blaney! That guy sure can drive one of those cars. At Daytona the car was junk and would not turn even after they made changes to it during the only caution flag in their 150 mile race.

I hate to say i agree, but I have always said NASCAR needs to start the fastest 43....let the rest go home. put some drama back into the sport.

Cool, now that IS something. Even if you're in the top 35, pit selection is still important.
Go Blaney, all the way to the end of the race!
