I hear what you all are saying. I know those of us that live in Knoxville got it good. I have been to dozens of tracks all over the country so I know what I am comparing it to. Yes the facilities are nice and yes the track is the best in the world, but the racing has been average in recent years. I can remember several nights where there wasn't a single pass made in any heat race. Some of the features have been good(even great) but it is a crap shoot. I understand it is a dirt track and you can't get it perfect every night, but I have seen better local shows on a consistent basis. And in case you have not noticed the economy sucks and is not getting any better(I don't care what the experts say, they are the same people that were telling us it wasn't bad)so it seems like a terrible time to raise rates. Poor economy, falling car counts and poor attendance don't seem like great reasons to raise ticket prices. Maybe some of the fairboard members are in need of a new truck(if you live in Knoxville you should get that joke). I for one will be skipping races because of the cost. I am sure I don't stand alone. Maybe I am just to fond of the good old days when it was just another dirt track with one big race a year. When you could take the whole family without breaking the bank and watch great races. Knoxville is just another victim in a long line of places that is falling victim of their own pride, greed and arrogance. And yes I have and will continue to tell Cappy and the fair board about it. I am not just hiding on a message board. Just ask around there have even been fair board members quit for these very reasons. My bold prediction: Knoxville's weekly show will be extinct within the next 10 years.

Hey Southjacket I don't mean to bust your bubble but I called about the season tickets because it seemed to good to be true. It was. I was told that the season ticket cost $329. Does not cover Nationals or late model nationals and one other. So unless you are committed to going every night there is a car on the track and it doesn't rain anything out it is a joke. They could probably sell alot more at $99. I would.

Back to the original question. I see a repeat in both classes. Herrara and Garner. If Herrara doesn't try to defend then I say Brownie in the 410's. GO 40, GO 40 GO!

or....you can now purchase a season ticket for $99, which covers everything but the Outlaws and Nationals I believe

that's a great price, no matter how you slice it

This would be correct except don't forget the motorcycle races. This $99 includes 13 regular season nights. Which is a fantastic deal! Does anybody know if this means you get reserved seating?

Apparently, you need to know what you are asking for when you call the track.

A season ticket for the 13 Knoxville Cup (Regular Night) is indeed $99 for adults 19 and over.

The $329 is a full season pass excluding the 410 Nats, the Late Model Nats, and the AMA motorcycle race. This price includes the 3 Day WoO show, the 360 Nationals, the USAC non-wing show, and the IMCA races during the fair plus the 13 Knoxville Cup races.

So yes, you can attend all 13 of the Knoxville Cup races for $99, or under $10 a night if purchased in this manner.

Jonathan Cornell is going to win 360s and of course Blackjack Brian Brown will sit atop the 410 points at the end of the year at the sprint car capital of the world's 1/2 mile
I'd rather be in Knoxville.

He will be driving his own car like he did two years ago when he was leading points for a bit and in contention to win the championship for a good part of the year.
