When a big chunk of "locals" will be running Goodyear as well... how will running Goodyears be a disadvantage? LOTS of regions and locals will have Goodyear tires as well.

I'll repeat myself... it's truly amazing how much misinformation, conjecture and flat out BS there is about Goodyear. WOW.

The game is different now... much like when Hoosier became the only RR tire you could run. Hoosier didn't ruin sprint car racing when it was the only RR you could run... and Goodyear won't either IMO.

Running a specified LR will kill the sport? Geez... (yawn)....

I think GY bit off a little more than they can chew right now. I predict that until they get caught up (if they can) WoO and other tracks will be allowing other brands of LR's.

Agree, if Hoosier pulled it off a few years ago, so can Goodyear. I am still not sure why there has been such an up roar this off season over this. Where was the backlash when Hoosier did basically the same thing Goodyear is doing this season. It's almost like people want to complain and are hoping for a doom and gloom 2010. I truly beleive we will have a great Sprint Car season when the dust settles.

I think you guys should instead be thinking about how your "old" 410 is going to keep up with the guys who have the new heads and injection that's on the market now. Oh wait, it's not. Maybe a different tire isn't such a bad thing.

When you don't have mass quantities of the tire produced yet, you can't sell mass quantities. if you ordered tires just a few weeks ago, you were only allowed to buy a certain amount. Remeber the days of purchasing 100's of tires. Yeah, there gone! These tires are NO GROWTH tires. Putting them in the sun won't do anything. The wheel manufacturers are only manufacturing and selling their normal wheels because they have no idea what to do with these tires because nobody has actually raced them yet.

you act like you have 100 of them yourself? , total B.S. , Goodyear has had all winter to ramp up production, it doesnt take that long to up production #'s ,(like stated above GY isnt a hoe dink company) the offer from goodyear was present with knowing production #'s, if not, somebody needs to loose thier job, and what?, wheel manufacture's are going to scale offsets and halves in 1/64th inch incriments ?? to taylor just to the goodyear tool and die assemblies renewed just because of a crappy GY when the whell manufacture already has abilities to produce selected halves ? thanks mr wheel producer for taking the hit., I thought the tires wouldnt grow? but switching halves has the magic ability to do something effective to the face of the tire , all too strange of a post.. Ill believe it when I see it

I just read this on another board. Is this true?

Hearing that drivers are finding out a few things about the Goodyear tire 'deal'. They can only get get either 4 or 10" stagger when these drivers are used to working with much more than that. Goodyear is also limiting competitors to how many tires they can buy for Speedweeks. I have heard 11 being the maximum. One driver said that he had to recheck his air gauge when inflating his front tires. He said they looked like they had 60psi in them when they crowned like balloon tires.

Let the fun begin!

FACT, Goodyear tires are on allocation in Fla.

Team got to the pratice at Ocala & was limited to 10 tire maximum purchase.

Each team will then be limited to only a few tires a race night.

Number of tires a night yet to be determined by Goodyear depending on how many teams show up.

:-( Companies all over the US are looking for sales, Goodyear has locked in customers & can't supply the product to get the show on the road.

Something wrong with this picture!!

Your an idiot! The "show" hasn't even started yet and your bitchin, just like your other post.

Goodyear have been making racing tire's for a long, long time now. They've been making sprintcar tires for a long, long time, I think they know what thier doing. Give it a month or two into the season and then make your assumptions, until then let it go.

The older I get, the faster I used to be.

Everybody is mad at goodyear, they run a business and they are there to make money. If you want to be mad, be mad at the series' and the track owners who are getting the money and not passing it on to the teams. Goodyear gave big bucks to the outlaws, but i didn't hear about any increase in points or payouts. The best thing that could happen would be to limit the number of tires a team could run. One left rear and one right rear per night. Let the smart guy succeed against the rich guy. Then the points could be exciting based on guys not finishing races because of setups and tire choices. Throw in some DNF's and it could be fun to watch.

And it could be done;

Outlaw teams and ALOT of teams used to order 100's of tires at the beginning of the year and stock them in their shops or in the trailer. Alot of teams don't buy tires at a track, unless they have to. You have no clue about these tires. You pick apart a post which common sense would answer it for you. it's noticed, you're lacking it. The tires were made so that when you are racing and heat is being generated inside the tire, it won't grow, keeping the stagger the same throughout the whole race.

Believe what you want. I know what I was told when I called and talked to a rep about the tires. Also, like it was said before. Teams will be limited to the amount of tires they will be using in Florida.
