Heres my opinion on the subject: Looks to me that Lanny is ruining racing at SFS by

1) Changing rules right before the season begins.

2) Not enforcing the rules that are in the rule book.

3) Selling or renting race parts at the track.

4) Letting classes be ruled by the ones with the most $$.

I will not run SFS because I am moving to the Street Stock class & will be running at Enid, Ada & some other tracks this year! I would like to join the Pro Stock class in a few races this year but not to have to choke my motor with some dumbass restrictor plate. My motor is not being built to be choked down. I don't have near the money in it that the regular guys have & I can not afford the aluminum heads!!! I have always done the best I can with what I have, I do not own my own business or have big money sponsors!

So in the rules it states that you can run 3 races with steel heads, does that mean 3 without the plate or does it include the plate? It would be just my luck that out of 8-10 cars, I run 5th & get DQ'ed for not having the plate! Plus I would be running gas & not methanol & they think my motor is going to out perform a methanol burning motor running aluminum heads? I DON'T THINK SO!!!!

If I have to build a high dollar motor to run with factories for very little money, then I will just go elsewhere to run for money! Thats why I will be running SS this year.

Like it or not, this is my opinion.........................................Have a great season!

Lanny is only responding to the times and the cars that are available, that doesn't neccessarily mean he's having fun. Except for the Chili Bowl.

Dave, that hurts. Remember I was a journalism major all those years ago.....

Surly

SUR-lee, adjective

ill-humored; churlish in manner or mood; sullen and gruff

Brian26 pretty much sums up my feelings too. My world used to revolve around the tracks but now it's just a novelty that I can pretty much take or leave. I never had one second of regret this past weekend while sitting at home watching some hoops and IRL instead of forking over $35 for a pit pass.

I still love racing but am much more selective with my time when choosing what to attend. As long as things stay like they are at SFS, you won't see me around there much.

Personally, I enjoy watching the pro stocks run, but I do think the class is on life support. All of the car counts are a little bit of a concern, especially since we've seen a pretty dramatic nosedive in just the last couple years, but the pro stock thing has been coming for a while. For the people that are racing and sponsoring that class, I hope it can make it. Unfortunately, it doesn't look very promising, and when less than 10 cars roll out for an A feature it ain't exactly great marketing. If and when it goes I just hope we don't get subjected to hornets, lawn mowers or one of those other classes that would be better staged in the parking lot.

This all brings me to another point ... if car counts are down and one class looks to be at no better than 12-13 cars when completely maxed out, why aren't we running all five classes each week?

great point Kenny.............I thought the same thing last weekend. Even if they did replace the pro stocks......whatever they replaced them with would not pull much more for a while. But every time I think that I also think most of those drivers in any class most likely doesn't want or maybe can't afford to run every week.

But man I still think 5CAN is an excellent idea.

Why? Him and others beat a damn horse to death and I am trying to sell that dead horsemeat to McDonalds and get done with it. There are those who haven't posted a positive thing about any topic and it has made a couple of people not want to post anything here anymore because they are afraid it will stir up trouble. And they have been on this site for a long, long time and I respect their opinions alot.

There are those who have posted their opinion on the same subject over and over and now I am caught in the middle from pro stock drivers who is telling me what IS going on. I don't mind being in the middle of that as their side needs to speak too. What if a full-bodied fan starts complaining and bashing the sprint car drivers because they always need to be push-started when they spin out and that take more time than anything else? What if a non-sprint car fan thinks that twenty cars in the champ sprints is a waste of time for everybody? I would be trying to defend the same thing with logic and what is told by me and those sprint car fans/drivers would be just as upset as the pro stock drivers and fans are now.

You may say if I don't like a certain topic then don't read it. Problem is, I do have to scan through topics now and then cause some get out of hand. Therefore, I have to babysit.

And for you OKCfan, I didn't say if you didn't like it dont go to dirt track racing or whatever you decided to take from it. What I meant was, if you (or anybody else) don't like it when the short field of pro stocks are out there then go take a wiz or go to the concession stand cause nobody is forcing any of you to sit there and watch it. I got my own opinions about the pro stocks myself and I posted it. Thing is, with my real name, I get called out and got a tongue lashing by a pro stock driver for my negative thoughts on it. I took my butt chewing like a man and respected what he had to say and I think in the end he rightfully respected what my thoughts were. We are still considered friends but it boiled down to if your going to speak your negative thoughts then be brave enough to get called out on it, make it known who you are.

There are those who know me well that know that I like all but one or two of those drivers out at SFS and I respect all but those one or two drivers out there who race each and every Friday night - no matter what division they compete in. I like to think that alot of fans there who know me enjoy what I try to do for this site BUT I will not continue to take a talking too because several people want to post about the same thing week in and week out.

Dayum it is going to be along season.

no cage match. David's ok by me. Met him and he was a good fella.

I see now where I kinda missed what you were saying by that.......but the f-word being tossed in there made it seem a little insulting. But you are completely right........if I disliked the class so much then it would be a great time for a bathroom break. But as of now the 5 car B Mains where all involved transfer offer the best opportunity.lol

But I don't see how I am that negative, although these posts are all words on a screen and it's easy to misinterpret someone's intentions (ie your post to me above). Or where I disrespect somebody's opinion to where they don't want to post here. I don't think my thoughts on the issues we are talkin about in this post are really negative. I ALWAYS liked the pro stocks. Man I really have. But when the class has faded to this I think a change should be made for the sake of the entire show. On the other hand you're right it's a horse I've beat to death as this is about the 10th time I've posted on it. Point taken.

I could see where your thoughts are influenced by gettin phone calls, and if you receive them on my behalf tell them to call 295-1422 and ask for Cody Morris. This is a great site put together for race fans in general to conversate.......it's a real bummer that some might think it's negative in any way, especially to where people want to make phone calls on behalf of an individuals opinions. Personally I haven't seen ANY posts on here that are overly offensive. Maybe people should just be a little more open to different opinions. I don't think this will be a long season......I think it will be short like every other. Then again............it could be long pending the amount of "f bombs" that get dropped along the way. That may not be the last one........David done let the cat out of the bag. Just really really sucks it was my post David dropped it on. lol.
