ASCS has only 20 point paying "National" races and USAC national sprints/midgets run primarily in the midwest. The All Stars primarily run in OH and they show up in PA, plus those handful of races that they run with the WoO. A lot of people like to badmouth the WoO but they are and will continue to be THE national series. What is it that Johnny did/does say "Often imitated, but never duplicated".

that is largely perception. Although they certainly do have the best drivers in the biz - the top few anyway. But having the best drivers and highest purse - doesn't alwasy equal out to the best show.

As an entire series - ASCS is better organized. WoO is running out of competition as 410 racing continues to decline. Which I should add I don't think is a good thing. I hope something happens to the state of 410 racing that curbs the on going trend.

But I do think ASCS deserved more credit. Not many sprint car series that can boast having 12 qaulity races on the same weekend. Thats why I say it is better organized. But to be objective and not be the homer - ascs will eventually run into the same issues - just the fundamentals of 410 are not condusive to a lot of sustained success - pretty quick neither will 360's.

The entire sport really is facing a crisis. Emmet Hahn had great ingenuity to start what he did and build it the way he did - but eventually he will have to make changes. I think there is a better chance of Hahn or someone else doing this with 360 racing - then anyone doing it in 410 racing. The time has came and almost passed for them to really fix things.

Thats awesome that it is still so good in Cali, OH, PA, and Knox. But it can't have all the legitimacy and credibility that Turd Blossoms like Katich claim - when it's narrowed down to such small and compact areas. I am an ASCS fan - never see the WoO - I live south of the Mason Dixon -which means 410's are almost non existent except for the wingless sprint bandits I'll see the next 2 nights.......but I think the sport needs a healthy WoO - and a better 410 scene. I think the sport NEEDS it.

Well said, Scoop. FAST has no plans of taking the show on the road or trying to muscle the All Stars out of Ohio. What purpose would that serve to the sprint car fans? Less high paying shows around Ohio? That would just be silly.

360s are not the answer and never will be. With the 410s they race more and race for more money. The cost is almost the same now a days for an engine yet the 360s race for half the prize money that 410s do. Yes the 410 engines for the big guys need freshed up more often than 360s but with more races and a higher purse you make up for that difference.
