Individual preference. Gary Flatt would have loved to have traded in those second place finishes of 2005 for a couple of victories but was still wanting that championship nonetheless. Burns I am sure would have loved to have won features as they really wasn't chasing the points deal but just fell into it.
Then there are those like Jerry Stone in 1984 who just drove consistantly every race, drove smart and still won the speedway championship.
I think all drivers go out to win races but some realize that certain nights they aren't going to do it and settle for as high a finish as they can get. It all goes back to the saying that consistancy wins championships.

I say race to win all of them and the points will take care of themselves.....But on the other hand your leading the points there might not be some risks your willing to take in order to win the race. I agree..it's an individual basis thing.
