Okay, I do not entertain this, it actually entertains me. This is my first and hopefully last post. I told Mr. Vanda-mere that I would hold his check until I had confirmation on the rule "You must complete one lap under Green of the A main to get your pay ". And since he BARELY took the green, I needed to make sure that I was correct on the rule and was unable to do so at the time. Then I told him if he was or WASN'T eligible that I would make sure he was compensated for his drive and efforts. Now, his Uncle, must not of gotten the full story and I am debating whether to mail the check or not. If he is reading this he needs to find my number and call me.

This is B.S. either way.

You want to be right ..send the check. Maybe the uncle jumped the gun.Not the racers fault and it has nothing to to with your obligation.Be the bigger man and people will respect you even more knowing your fair and honest....you know you want to do the right thing...mistakes happen

What the heck is MWAS? Anything like MASS? Ragardless of whatever it is or how Mr. Director is trying to spin it -- the race team was there, competed and apparently was wrecked on the first lap of the A. I don't see any issue whether he should be paid for last place in the A-Main. Mr. Director saying he didn't like the racer's Uncle's attitude sounds to me like an extremely feeble attempt to justify weaseling out of paying a racer what he is due. However, taking into consideration the history of Mr. Director's organization it does not surprise me a bit.

PS - Just my humble opinion on the situation. wink

I'd like to know how one "barely takes the green"....kind of like being "almost pregnant". You either take the green, or you don't. If the green flies, and then you crash, well, IMO, you've started the race, and finished last. But you've taken the green, and met the conditions of the unwritten agreement that means you've earned last place money.

Time to quit parsing words here and pay the man his money. And his uncle's imput to the situation really doesn't matter here, so you should not have any second thoughts about mailing the check. If you want to kill your car counts at the next MASS race, just go ahead and withhold the payout.

I promise you that you'll do way more harm to the series by trying to save $150.00 here....

Hopefully a rule change is coming very soon if it is indeed true that "you must complete a lap".

But to bring this a little farther....what is the basis for the rule? What was the thinking that a driver must complete a lap? Start and park is not a problem in dirt track sprint cars is it? If a guy doesn't complete a lap he is certainly having problems and WISHES he was out there racing.

If it was me and this is what it took to get me a pay check after I took the green flag, I would have absolutely nothing to do with this organization what so ever. Very very shady and very very sad that a racer almost gets screwed out of a paycheck because he gets stuffed in the fence as the green flag was waved. That is BS!!

BAM!!!!

just what I was about to say lol.

Webb and Katich are pretty handy with the phone - today is probably no exception....

If this thread gets erased it takes away any and all creditability of Webb, Katich and Hoseheads.

Glad to see this got resolved finally. Kudos to those that stood behind their principles.

So, you are telling me, that if a racer "Barely" wins, then he might not get paid until you decide if he won or not? You said he "barely" took the green flag, so it is not a question if he actually took the flag or not, it is just that he "barely" did it. So what? Did he take the green or not? Man, what a way to run a business. Can I please get my driver to go run that series.

Keep me out of this...frankly, I agree that if a driver takes the green, he should collect the pay and voiced that to the power that be. On the other hand, going on a public message board to air a grievence which could have been taken care of privately via phone is also very weak and seems to give the intent of stirring up the typical bashing thread against the series and its principal.

I can guarantee this much...going on a meassage board isn't going to get Guy Webb to change his mind on anything. Common sense and man-to-man discussion have a far better chance a accomplishing your goal.

Again, I have nothing to do with this other than voicing my personal opinion, which I have done so with this post.

Keep me out of the discussion.

The mere fact that this was ever an issue to begin with is absurd. So the racer's uncle posted about what went down, his post was factual it now seems, & the credibility of anything related to Webb & sprint car racing has taken another well deserved hit.

I placed this subject on the board because it pissed me off the way the driver felt after leaving the track. My post was to ask a question and get an answer. The bashing happened for other existing reasons it seams and I was not aware of them. The issue was resolved and I am glad.

John,

I did not bring you into this. You jumped in. So I pulled up your posts on other threads to get a read on you. I find some of them quite interesting. I will introduce myself to you and Guy soon when I make one of your shows.

Regards,

Gunner
