I go to Ventura a lot. But when Perris is running I always drive the 100 miles to see the show. Love Ventura, but Perris is the best show around. We had good car counts for the earlier shows, but evan with 22 cars it was a good show. Looked like a respectable amount of fans in the seats. Would have been nice with more cars, but as as race fans we have to live with what we have. I guess a lot of guys just love to complain. With the economy like it is things could be a lot worse. We should be thankful to those teams that provide us with the best racing on the planet. Some people seem to think some other body will replace USAC, but I personally hope USAC continues out here. USAC stepped up to the plate when Manzy closed and has booked The Pacific Coast Nationals at Tulare. If you are not grateful to USAC for this you must be a chronic complainer, who would complain if you were hung with a velvet rope. Why don't I see more Perris regulars at Ventura when Perris is not runnung? Jimmy puts on a hell of a show up there! Oh, it's too far to drive they say, or I don't like 360's so they stay home and watch tin tops. My favorite fans are Walt Hauser and Mel Beauchamp who always show up at Ventura when Perris is'nt running. They even go to Irwindale when sprints are'nt running.

Those PAS fans who haven't been to the new Ventura should take Dave's advice and go one night when Perris isn't running. The reworked track is wide and fast and it is a helluva good show. Definitely worth the travel.
