Ouch, giess I stepped in it. I appologize to everyone I offended. From Jim Naylor to everybody else concerned. I certtainly love this Grand Slam deal, have been a huge supporter of it from the get go without question. I would love with all my racing soul to see it continue (while I enjoy my involvement it is without reservation that I say with or without my involvement) I believe in the concept.
I believe the duel meet GS races were/are the best thing going, and that as created over 5 years ago. As Kevin K. supports, it has been a mutually beneficial and outrageously successfully supported series by both groups...in response to a need born of racers. Both groups made a great effort to come together to make this deal successful over the years. Clearly it has been and hopefully will be.
I will be there with a group of Bandits. There are many who still believe in the concept and are excited about getting going. There are those dissappointed in the swing or flavor. Where were made gains over the hardships of improved Bandito participation last season, it appears as a setback (especially in the view of a significant portion of the Bandit group, not simply my view) in the formatting. But in no way those things are insurmountable, and can be worked through and improved upon. There are (or it seems to be) that there are always challenges in this racing deal. What the turn out is, the fact is it could have been (and hopefully will be) better. We will have teams from the central valley and from nor cal making the tow, and for those folks their dedication is unparalleled. That is with Kings purposfully from the beginning scheduling the WCS in conflict with the GS (one of the reasons not to continue w/ Kings). AND consider those traveling to VRAland with a race in their back-yard! I truely wish it were optimum tomorrow, and thats where a certain amount of dissappointment resides. I hope that some of you can see that and understand that.
I certainly am not satisfied with many of the challenges in our racing world right now. Things from many, many points can be better and am looking forward to those things getting better in the future. I like to be proactive in getting those things better and right. The racers deserve those things drastically improved upon. Like I said at the beginning, I appologize to those whom I offended, and will extend my hand in friendship and will earnestly discuss it with any of you there.
I will be at Ventura Raceway tomorrow as scheduled and look forward to seeing y'all out there.
So, if you disagree with my view, I am OK with that and will discuss it with any of you. I am planning on getting there around noonish.

Pete, I have never met you, but with the way you promote your lil series, I'm sure I don't want to meet you. You back a guy that has no track (Swindler.) You talk sh!t about others that are trying to make racing better than you or the swindler could ever do (Kearns and SMS.) You crack the VRA for getting their tire for this years Grand Slam Series. Whats wrong with a lil change? You hide on the message boards and rant and rave then you say its all good. You sir are a hypocrite. The best thing you could do for the Bandits is to stay far away from them as possible. Then maybe they will survive.
Those teams that you think support you and are only racing because of your wonderful promoting are racing in VRAland because they are Die-hard Racers. The only disappointment is that you keep trying to promote them.
Stop being a drama queen and let the races happen as they will. The Grand Slam Series will race in Bakersfield and Santa Maria with or without your blessing.
Just curious here. How much do you get paid to promote the Bandits?
You are getting over-paid. IMO

PETE IS THE MOUTH PIECE FOR THE SWINDLER PERIOD, ALL WAYS WAS AND STILL IS. THE DIVISIONS AND PROBLEMS IN CA 360 RACING WILL NEVER GO AWAY UNTIL THE SWINDLER IS TOO TIRED OR OLD TO CONTINUE. THE DAY THEY HAVE THESE PROMOTER MEETINGS WITH SW PRESENT IS THE DAY THE TRACKS AND TEAMS WILL START TO WORK TOGETHER. 5 YEARS OF THIS CRAP AND PETE IS THE SAME TODAY AS WHEN HE WORKED TO KILL THE SCRA !!

Exactly!! I sure miss the SCRA and all that Richard Harvey did for us. The only reason we are running Tulare ths weekend is because of our love for the track and the Farias, it has nothing to do with what Pete is promoting or what he is saying. I am sick and tired and honestly, embarrassed of the the negativitiy that is being spread about the 360's. Let's get over this crap and go racing..

Hey SCRA#97, I'm new to the so-cal race scene. So I don't know of anything before this last year. My hate for this turd of a promoter(?) Pete (Curtio), is all from him opening his pie-hole recently. I've met some real dumb-a&&es in the past, but they usually just disappear after awhile. Is Pete so stupid to not get the hint(s) that he should stay away for some time and rethink his way of proactive help to a series? The Swindeller has no track and the Banditos probably wish he (pete) would stay off the message boards. Pete, I think you are a stooge. This is just one mans opinion.

ch_flash, you pretty much said it all. You are pretty much either with him or against him. He said some hateful things about Mr. Harvey and SCRA that I will NEVER forget. Now he's moved on to Kings Speedway, Chris Kearns, SMS, and probably me next. I'm not on anyones side, as we are a family owned team that races where we want to and when we want to. This is our tenth year in sprint cars, and we have seen lots of changes, some good, some bad. I can honestly say that I am embarassed by all that has transpired lately. I think we need to show people good racing, and not have the reputation of an organization that bickers and fights internally with itself. Some people just need to stay off message boards. As you can see, I don't have many posts and I have been a member for a long time, so I don't post and spread rumors and hatred on a daily basis. If you are at Tulare, feel free to stop by and say hi. I'll be driving the black and green #97.
Thanks,
Matt Day

Matt.
I'll come by if I ever get up that way. Scraping mud on VRA cars for now.
I just hate when people like Petey do the crap they do and then say the are trying to help. I do share my thoughts a lot. lol

Pombo, Carlisle, & Barnes have been running the wcs. I immagine there will be plenty of crossover between the two series as most of these guys just want to race and not deal with the stupid politics. First bandit race is Tulare this week as a support class to GSC.

Maybe Petey can get 2 or 3 drivers for his bandit race.

I get it now, you guys don't like each other!
How about a 2000 gallon water truck dumps a full load of water in the middle of the infield saturday night and makes one big mud puddle! Then Pete and Gary can jump in at intermission and have one great big ol' mud wrestling and mud slinging match. Last man standing wins! The other goes back to stoogeing on a car scraping mud or changing tires or just sitting in the stands with his mouth shut!
Just an idea!
We're not racing this weekend, but I'de drive to Ventura to watch that!

Don't know if that will ever happen, but my money is on Gary.

Exactly my point. Never said he only races wcs. Just said that out of those 5 names he is one of he guys that has run wcs this season. I was at Vegas & Perris. I know he has run a bunch of places this season. Will be at Tulare this week too. Like most of the racers caught up in this bs, i just want to go to the track and have a good time without all of the nonsense. Good luck to you guys this week.
