Broadcast team for 2008 Knoxville Nationals: Ken Stout (play x play) Brad Doty (color) Dave Argabright (trackside host) Tony Bockhoven (pit reporter) Rob Klepper (pit reporter)

I SINCERLY hope that you are kidding about Ken Stout being the play by play announcer. I CANNOT stand him at all. He sucks IMO. Absolutely cannot stand him... Why do the idiots in charge of these broadcast companies not listen to the fans and put SPRINT CAR ANNOUNCERS as the play by play?? Great way to grow a fan base by having a 1/2 informed 1/2 interested announcer in Ken Stout. I guess there wasnt any mudbuggies, tractor pulls or monster trucks for him to announce this weekend... ugh, I LIKE RALPH SHEHEEN and BOBBY GEROULD put them on the broadcast. Hell I didnt even like Ken Stout doing the IHBA dragboat races.
Cheers!

Yep, that pretty much SUMS IT UP. If you dont watch side show like motorsports programming you would be hard pressed to have seen his work. Piss poor decision to have Stout on the broadcast team, almost as bad as Shane Andrews doing the regular world of outlaws shows.
Cheers!

How can it be live when it starts here in Pa at 10pm est and over by 1am est > dont forget Knoxville is one hour behind pa; so that would make it live out there at 12am !!! last 3 nites it over by 12am estl except last nite when it was over around 1210 am est !!!

You do have a point. I'm going to listen to hoseheads and keep the TV on just in case. I really enjoyed the hosehead live deal, and can't wait until it starts tonight. I think TV does the best they can w/ sprintcar racing since there is so much down time with all the push starting of the cars. Its fun when you are there live, and get that sensory overload, but on TV they would just be showing commercials ( i.e. NASCAR) so taped delayed isn't all that bad. Sean

Sean; the TNN telecast were Live because back then i used my 10 sat. dish and had the Live feeds to TNN and when they went to commerical; they stayed at the track ; or in the pits and you did not miss anything; in other words when they were in commerical ; you did not see the commericals; just Racing !!! I miss the old TNN days !!!

Well doesn't look like much will be missed if they are starting the broadcast at 9 pm central time considering it's just past 8pm and they are just starting, so no complaints here..... except wish I was there!

It is indeed live - well there is a slight (about 5 seconds) delay as the signal goes up to the satellite and back down and then through the cable or satellite system. wink I'm watching it on TV and out the window here of my booth and it's as close to live as you can get.

no four wide pace lap because weather is coming. Yellow as Walker jumped and sent to tail. Lasoski leads but falls off the pace and Meyers shoots around to lead one. Meyers led through lap 23 when the first yellow came for Walker with a motor fire. Solwold and Wright are out of the race. After the restart, Schatz took the lead at the line at lap 25 but the second yellow came for a stopped Stewart with no power steering at lap 26. Schatz wins over Meyers and Dollansky.

Good coverage. Close enough to live for me. Slight dealy, better than lenghty dead time.

Nice job compressing the week. Doty, Klepper, & Argabright were top notch. Good interviews & features.

Thanks SPEED ...now do some USAC races too.
