Or maybe they don't want the technology to get out of hand and price teams out. If you look at SLM racing and what technology has done to them in a short amount of time is kinda crazy. Tracks around here in CPA that used to run them regularly only run them once in a while now  Hagerstown comes to mind especially because small and regional teams can't afford to keep up. Maybe the tracks think their trying to save what they have.

Technology is great. Letting the racers/buyers decide isn't the worst idea is it?

Not when it out prices the teams/drivers from being able to compete. The amount of SLM teams is dwindling fast. There used to be a lot of tracks near me that used to have them weekly Hagerstown Winchester Potomac Delaware none race them weekly anymore. Hagerstown used to be the #1 track on the east coast for SLM now maybe 5 races a year. Port Royal and Bedford are the only ones I can think of that do. Northeast modifieds are getting the same way with trick suspension parts.

I find it difficult to believe that a part the maker of it says does not have a price yet is going to destroy anything. From the description of how it works it may improve the cars greatly.  Why not get rid of titanium parts and pieces?  Increase the minimum car weight? Outlaw aluminum blocks?

Calm down nobody said destroy. My point is exotic parts including titanium aren't needed in the sport . Weekly racetracks need to have car counts to keep the fans in the stands. How many weekly 410 tracks do you have in your neck of the woods?

You claim technology is great, but you would outlaw aluminum blocks? Increasing minimum weight will increase the use of add on weight. I don't see a problem with the new birdcage, I'm curious if it will be an effective component or not? Race car owners take pride in spending the money to take the sport to the next level if it gains them an advantage over their competition and that won't change. It's not a blue collar sport anymore. Wait for A I to step into the mix.

I have a track (PDR) with regular 360 races about 2 hours away.  We attend the traveling 410 shows most of the summer in Wisconsin.  I fill in our 410 schedule at the 360 track which hosts several 410 shows. Usually pretty good racing and excellent affordable food in Plymouth, WI.

I think increasing the minimum weight 25 to 50 lbs. could reduce the value of light weight components.  Easier to police the weight vs exotic parts.  Limiting technology improvements like the birdcages sounds like NASCAR logic.

No matter what they do I will attend the Sprint Car races. Better than streaming. Streaming I can do anytime.

Agreed. there is one driver that always needs to add weight and he can put it where it helps the most.
