Me too Rod.
I travel to the midwest every year, you know, the first two weeks in August? It's about 680 miles one way and worth it, adding a week to the trip this year for the Jackson Nationals.
Yeah, I'm predjudiced, I grew up in central Iowa, Knoxville was the first track I ever went to and it spoiled me. I haven't been to a better facility yet.

Make that three.
As my local track closed mid season last year.
Sprint car Kelly missed the great "non wing" we have out here.
Track that closed, Santa Maria Speedway. 12 min from front door.
From central coast of Cali.
Peace, Out.

Make that 4... ZERO dirt tracks in Connecticut! In fact the last dirt track was paved soon after I moved here. Went there twice, lost interest for the next 40 years.
There are 2 dirt tracks 2 hrs. away in NY state, mostly for modifieds, & the sprint car races I went to there were boring follow the leader. I don't go anymore
Fortunately Pa. tracks are "only" a 4 or 5 hr. drive away. But no more USAC midgets (my favorite....)
