Next weekend is a three day Lucas Oil Late Model race at Port Royal, paying $10K, $12K and $15K to win. Inquiring minds want to know if Kyle will be there....I cetainly will be there to watch if he does.

Those Late Model guys get a lot more feisty than we see in the Sprints. If he wins he better hit the pay window and get out of Dodge.

Very true.
I didn't know Briscoe was in the Stewart stable. Wow, great future for SHR - especially if they sign Larson.
There will be about a hundred sprint car teams/drivers lining the street waving goodbye as his motorhome is headed back to Charlotte!

I live close to a track known for Late Model racing over the years so I have gotten closer to them than many on this board who are Sprints only. To make it clear the Late Models are second on my list but I do know some of the drivers and one who races with the World of Outlaws Late Models, Brent Larson. People tell me that they're a lot more complicated to setup than a Sprint Car so Kyle will need a good CC to interpet his input and make necessary changes. I think if he has that and expects some door rubbing, bumping and banging he will do fine. Keeping in mind that Donny Schatz owns his Late Model and has been tinkering with it for a few years. He has had some decent runs with the WoO LM's but hasn't won one yet but has won locally. Donny has made some friends in the Late Models and has gotten advice and tips and it's still taking him a while so I'll throw that out there as a potential comparison. It will be interesting to see how this works out.

Kevin Rumley is without a doubt one of the best super late model engineers/crew chiefs in the business today.
His drivers have won pretty much ever big super late race there is and multiple national series championships.
IMHO if Rumley didn't think they could be competing for wins right out of the box I doubt this deal would have ever seen the light of day.
Also with Larson's aggressive up on the wheel driving style it's a natural fit for a super late.
