Not a betting man, but I think he's in a SHR cup car next year, and kicking ass in one.

He can always find a new house down there if need be.

I hope you're right, but I kind of doubt it myself.   I think a little more water will have to pass under the bridge.   Even Smoke can't run him without sponsors, and other SHR sponsors could have issues with it even if Larson wouldn't be driving for the team they sponsor.

Just read May's issue of Speed Sport.  Page 14 Dave Argabright comments on Larson's problem and what young people need to do to get rid of the word.  ..."take every step necessary to remove such language from your consciousness, quit listening to any music where it's used, (I would assume you'd have to censor your children's CD purchases and I think a black rapper, even most black people, would call that in itself, racist), distance yourself from anybody in your world--young or old---who uses the word,  take 20 minutes to study American history and understand what its about"   (20 minutes to study American history?)

He should have added, stop watching TV, stop listening to the radio, stop reading newspapers and magazines and books---just self-quarantine yourself in your house permanently.  Yeah, I'm exaggerating!  Anyway, Larson will be back in Nascar, probably not this year, but next year---maybe, sometime, for sure, I hope.

Someone who's racing for a living, especially in NASCAR, is still living in a corporate world.   The company I work for doesn't allow anyone in the company to use that word, even a black person.   One incident and you're out the door.   Like anything else, there's always somebody who doesn't get it and winds up being made an example.    In this case that somebody is Larson.

Anyone wanna take a bet that this is the year Kyle chases his dream of running against Donny in his prime?

Also, not sure if anyone here remembers but Kyle did shed some light on $$ he made from NASCAR merch vs. his sprint car merch.  I think most everyone can agree he screwed up, but most of us like a redemption story too.  My guess is he could probably fund the majority of his own run at the rest of this WOO season with merch sales.

I'm thinking that it is a possibility that he could get a SHR ride. The one thing that makes it unique is that Stewart has a personal connection with couple of them. Basically they are friends and some of them are outside of the regular consumer market to where sales would be effected. It is still a long shot but one I think could happen depending on what plays out. I personally think there is a real good chance Larson wins at Knoxville tonight and either way, there will be an interview with him. I hope he realizes even though it will be dirtvision the interview will be picked up by many media outlets and they will be hanging on every word. He has always struck me as a quiet reserved shy kid who does not think of much outside of family and racing. Interviews were just interviews but now they are opportunity to show character. Its basically resume building for him each time he speaks to show sponsors the kind of person he is and show regret and humility. If he wins tonight it will be picked up across the whole country because of what has happened. Hopefully he knows the words he says tonight carry more weight than they ever have before. I am hoping for the best for him and hope he pulls it off. He has always seemed like a good kid who would not hurt anyone even if he tried.

I know the differece between using a word playing a video game with your buddies, watching a tv show for comedy, watching a movie, lisitening to music ....... vs speaking hate.

$10 says someone has called larson Japanese slurs in the pits.

It happens, it's not right, it will continue to happen, what you do with it is up to you.

I'm not saying its right but it happened. Get over it.

First of all - if the blacks would quit using this negative term to describe themselves it might help.  They can say it but we can't.

One of the only reasons I watch boring NASCAR is to watch Kyle Larson.  I wonder how many fans NASCAR will lose with Kyle not racing.  Let's face it - to we dirt track fans NASCAR is really boring.  During a race I can go out and mow my yard and come back in and not that much has changed in the race.   Most dirt track guys admit that they run NASCAR for the money to pay for their dirt track cars.  I truly hope that Kyle can weather the storm and come back to the top where he belongs.  He was more excited, I think, when Rico won the Chili Bowl than Rico was.  Kyle was the first person to congratulate him.   Also remember the interview with the press when they were telling Kyle how good he was and he said something like: ---- if you think I am good wait until you see the young guy from Oklahoma, Christopher Bell - he is really good.    How many racers are not that self centered.  Just a few of the reasons that I am a big Kyle Larson fan.

I know exactly what you mean Carol.   My interest in NASCAR has seriously waned over the last several years.    The last few years I've watched the races until Larson is out of contention, then I change the channel.   WIth the direction they're going with the cars and Larson out of it now, I probably will be watching very little when they resume.   Of course if Bell makes it and becomes ultra competitive then I would be more interested again.   Until that happens though, I can find better things to do.

Yes they say it in their Rap songs all of the time.  If they can use the word, then everyone should be able to.

Let me start by saying, I hate to see the news of him selling his homes, he was wrong and needs to be punished but having to uproot his family seems unfair to me.  But the fact that other people say the word doesn't make it ok to say.  This isn't something new (African American people using the N word, well other people are not allowed to say it).  I know an older white guy who uses the N word all the time, does that mean I should be able to say it too?  It's not iracing's fault, it's not society's fault, it's not african amercan's fault, it's nobody's fault but his own.  Blaming it on the game seems silly to me, if he uses that word in private, at some point he was going to be caught saying it somewhere else.

CDs, that really was a good one.  When in a hurry, make mistakes especially when not double checking.  Even at 70 I have 380+ rock songs purchased thru iTunes on my iPod, songs from decades starting in the 80s.  Hope there are no spelling or punkshuashen errors.  Hurry back racing---my life is getting shorter by the day, like everyone.

I never said that Kyle was a bigot. It was a stupid & insensitive thing to say, but I like to see him race, like everybody else here

The video you posted was worse. Nobody is asking anyone to kiss Jesse Jackson's ass. Just stop the bigotry... you know, like the unarmed kid that was recently murdered for jogging?

Why are we all so excited about watching cars race without EFI, independent suspension, & using a drag link for steering?

Lots of us like old school stuff! I still have all my LPs & CDs, haven't figured out the new stuff yet.... wink

To add to your point.  There's a lot of things women can do that men can't.  I think it would be great to walk into a women's locker room and just enjoy the view lol.  Obviously I can't, my wife probably could but why not me?  Why is there a double standard for this just because of what's between our legs?  If I were to walk into a bar and grab a female stranger's breast, it would probably end with me getting beat up, thrown out or at worst getting charged with sexual assault, but if my wife grabbed a stranger's breast, it wouldn't be as big of a deal.  I could probably tell a dirty joke to a male co-worker but if I were to tell that to a female co-worker, I could be fired.  Also, what do all of us think when we go to the store and see a couple (man and woman) and the woman is carrying all the groceries or whatever and loading the car by herself?  I'm assuming the majority of everyone on here is men, so I will ask this, if you see a vehicle broken down on the side of the road, are you more likely to stop if it's a man or a woman?  I'm sure there are many things males can do that don't seem fair to females.  The biggest issue is everyone wants equal rights, which I agree, everyone should have equal RIGHTS.  But people need to understand that we are all different.  Because we are different we will be treated different and will be allowed to do things based on those differences, which everyone should understand.  However different doesn't have to mean it's a bad thing.  If you are going to treat someone NEGATIVELY based on their gender or color, that's racism, sexism or whatever else you want to call it.  But I wish people could just understand, we all treat people different based on physical things and that it doesn't have to be a bad thing.  The fact is if you're not African American you can't use that word, kind of like the C word that many people hate.

I'll bet with you, even if it only has HAAS on the sides.
