I think you're getting the fiascos mixed up.  The situation at Atomic in June was with the new wall they had installed, a somewhat rough track from all of the rain during Ohio Speedweek, a very late night, and culminated with Brinton Marvel flipping out of turn 3 and a fan getting injured as a result.  It sounds like the situation that you're referring to is the DQs for teams being out of a designated area during the feature race which started with Kyle Larson at Route 66 and really blew up in PA in August or September.

Thats right! No "double fiascos"! wink

From the Department of Redundancy Department......

Wasnt the fiasco caused by All Star officials doing what they were instructed to do? Tony was very supportive of his employees actions, at least in the public eye.

Then I should ask who instructed them to do it,higher All Star officials or local track officials?

I think we're talking about 2 different fiasco's

Loving the Ohio Speedweek schedule.     9 different tracks in 9 days.    Looking forward to making the trip out again, excited to finally see a 410 race at Fremont & Limaland.

Lima will rain out and Fremont sucks. Attica and Wayne Co will put on the best races.

EDIT: Waynesfield is usually good too. Only time I actually went there the track was a one-lane rubber down follow the leader race around the bottom.

Saw a couple posts on Facebook yesterday stating the same thing. One person had text in it apparently from the promoter or GM stating that they had lost too much money the past couple years on the shows. Stated they would release their schedule & it had 18 410 shows on it.

I did not see an actual email address on the post so it may have been a copy & paste thing. May have to take it with a grain of salt on if it actually came from the promoter ornot

It came from Atomic/Brad.

Hope everyone that bashes tracks is happy with the end result of their bitching, which no doubt plays a part in keeping some fans away that may have otherwise gone and supported that track.

Is Atomic perfect? No. But it is owned and promoted by someone who puts their heart and soul into the track, and who did their best to fix a serious situation. The All Stars are a great show at Atomic and it's a shame this is how it all turned out. But hey, keep bashing those tracks folks.

I don't think people stayed away because of something that was written on a couple message boards. Most likely what has happened is people that did attend those races stopped because of other circumstances. I don't doubt for a second Brad puts his heart & soul into the track like others do. I have gone to KC/Atomic since before Brad. Once he bought/leased it basically starting in 2014 I recall I went to about 8 races that season, and probably 8 the following in 2015 (All Star and Local). In 2016 I only went to 2 simply because my son was born late 2015 & it was not easy for me to attend races. I started taking him in 2017 and my perspective of everything changed:

Before, I couldn't careless when a race ended. It could have gone on forever into the next morning and I or my wife had no issue. If the restrooms were bad I could simply hold it or take a whiz somewhere in the parking lot. However when you start taking your kids to races, especially the real young ones things are a bit different. When your 2-3yr old son can't drop a deuce because the toilets are stopped up (a lot of this is on the fans too, is it that hard to flush a toilet, also you are allowed to flush without putting 10lbs of TP in it, or lift the seat up when you take a piss?) or the biggest thing at 10-10:30pm the B-Main hasn't rolled off & they are starting to get a little restless. Or the all time worst when they fall asleep before the A-main starts at 11:30pm or later, you try to do your best to wake them up but they won't, but they wake up on the way home still wanting to see the feature, and are blaming you because they think you left the race before it was over since they don't realize they fell asleep.

A lot of that I never really cared about until children. When people used to get on here and complain about how late some races went I would roll my eyes. Now being a parent, I can see where they were coming from. A group of 6 of us used to go all of the time up until a couple years ago. Now none of us go & we have heard from others that won't go because no one likes the support divisions run there & the amount of them & how  late the sprint car A-Main starts. Out of the 11 tracks that I have been to it is the only one that I had a bad experience but still went back multiple times only to have other bad experiences. I don't want the track to do bad or closedown but if it is a bad product then people are not going to attend. The track is great & racey, the facilities need work like others do, but the program is at best unorganized unlike other tracks. Hopefully with their current schedule they can make some money & improve. Anyone who would like to attend should, it is just my personal preference to go to one of the other 5-6 racetracks with sprint cars.

And if you were a new fan thinking about attending a race at Atomic, and then they read your post - would you still come, or would you have a bad taste already given to you by a post like this? That's my point and you just made it for me.

Let me ruin your point then. If I was a new fan yeah a probably still would. I heard plenty of complaints before I went to Wayne County about dust, and Fremont on poor racing when I was a new fan and I still went. The FAST race in April I took my dad to the Atomic for his first time. As we pulled out of the track he said "that place was terrible." "What was with all those different modifieds & why did it take them so long to get everything going." I tried to explain to him about the track and he just told me, "well if you ever decide to go that place again just go without me, I'd much rather go to that Attica or Wayne County place."

If tracks didn't give people a reason to write bad comments they wouldn't have to worry about new fans reading those comments. People who spend their hard earned money shouldn't have to stay quiet for the sake of keeping the track open. The track should do their job to stay open. I didn't say anything after the first bad experience there, or the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th,........10th+. After that, and after a private email, I wrote my first bad comment on a track. Oh well. Plenty of other tracks that do things right and don't run bad support classes for back gate money

What a dumb post. Nick's issues seemed very well thought-out and completely reasonable to expect as a race fan. Maybe Atomic should put a little effort into fixing the issues at hand? Or is that just otu of the question?

Not having clean restroom facilities in 2019 is pretty ridiculous to me, bordering absurd.

I went to Butler after hearing boatloads of negatives about them. First time was less than stellar, second shot put on a fantasitic show. Now I'd rather drive 2 hours northwest to get there than 30 minutes to the east...
