Do you have some contractual obligation to showing the leader cross the line?

Please, for the love of God, use some common sense in determining what to show. Prime example is WoO Heat 3 from FALS - it sure was exciting going away from a cutthroat transfer spot battle between TMac and Gravel to show Larson win by a huge margin.

PS - Quit using the ontrack cams so much. We can't see shit.

PPS - Still love you!

I agree 100%, soooo frustrating when you have a battle for the transfer spot or for 2nd which is a spot in the dash.  Is it the same camera guy at every race, is he ordered to do this, heck that's what NASCAR does and they don't do anything right these days.  Johnny is good for the sport, knowledgable and a true sprint fan, hell he spends his offdays chasing sprinters in other series.  It may get old if you listen every night but the people he is talking to hear him once a year for the most part and he does it very well.....By the way, this is from a Flyers fan and I hate his Penqueens but ever since Cindy showed up they have been beating our butts....

Johnny is the GOAT. He does get a little animated at times but I don't know how people can seriously dislike what he does. The dude lives and breathes this stuff. He's absolutely part of the WoO experience and a big one at that. Some of the haters probably want to be soothed to sleep by the dulcet tones of Bruce Ellis.

Admitting you're from Caliifornia?  Can't take much to get elected to the Cali Assembly w/the oddballs there.

The camera operators and the announcer have no input as to the feed that we see. It is the person in the remote trailer who has the title of the director that chooses the camera angles and camera feeds that we see. Obviously, they could be a good director, but never actually sat in the stands around fans and thus don't fully understand what we are actually watching on the track. That is what need tweeking.

Obviously someone is running production, however, this wasn't a cut - it was the camera literally moving off the battle to show the finish. I'm pretty sure they only had one main cam last night, and maybe two on-track cams? I don't know if the camera man is being instructed over the headset to do this or not, and I don't particularly care, but man, it would be nice to fix.

I know when I'm in the stands my head is on a swivel trying to catch the action all over the track. I can't imagine trying to do the same with a video camera.

Exactly....

Agree that ontrack cam is a waste.... kind of a gimmick

I see it as more of a filler. It gives you a look at the track from the driver's perspective while they're killing a little bit of time. Once the green drops, the only use for it is to replay something like a crash that may have happened in front of the camera car.

This just isn't true. They use it often during heats right after the green drops. This is why I hate it, because you can never see what's going on in turn 1.

Let me clear up what I meant. That's not how they use it now, that's how they should use it.

I'd take Bruce any day. He gets hammered on here like anything Williams Grove or central PA but he's great announcer. Johnny does a great job as well and no one is more knowledgable but...oh that annoying voice and cliche lines! Best announcer I ever heard is Hare(can't remember his 1st name). Back to the original post, yeah show the best racing on the track and don't switch the camera to show the leader winning by a straight. Dirtvision isn't the only one. They all do that.

I like Bruce too. Johnny used to annoy me but as time went on i realized he knew a ton and loved the sport. I followed the Outlaws one west coast swing about 10 years back and we saw how hard he worked  getting from race to race and you couldn’t help but respect him even more.

Bruce is also very knowledgeable and i enjoyed when he used to guest announce at Knoxville.

Been going to Williams Grove and listening to Bruce for almost 35 years......I have no complaints. In my mind he is part of the fabric of the track. Dave Hare, who announces at BAPS Speedway, is who you are thinking anout. One of the most knowledgable and underrated announcers in the entire country in my opinion. Great voice and knows his stuff from open wheel to late models.

I notuced the Gravel/TMac thing as well but it happens, everyone is human.  In my opinion, Dirtvision is amazing.  Never miss a race!  Thanks, Dirtvision!
