Hahahahahahaha!!! The guy who whines and cries then boycotts Port because it's a slip n slide, raves about Williams Grove's slipe n slide. Not to mention you talk about front row winners. Hmmmm, Dewease and Hodnett start 1-2 and guess what, finish 1-2. Shocker!!  Hahahahahaha, you just proved everyone's point that you have an agenda when it comes to Port Royal. Man, Strawser, you are something else. Can't wait for Port tonight and bonus..........NO BSTRAWSER ANYWHERE!!!!!!

No agenda here.  Just telling it like it is....sorry you can't handle the truth.  Port could be a great racing surface if they would get it as wet at the start of the night as Williamsgrove did last night.  Port starts the night as a slip and slide and ends the night a slip and slide.

The best races and tracks this week has been the Port on Wednesday and both Lincoln races.  No slip and sliding there.   Hmm, fast tracks and Lance doesn't win.

Mother nature had to help Port....that is the only way it was that good.  If it didn't rain it would have been the regular track....slip and slide all night long and a boring feature as per the normal at that oval!

Tonight will be a slip and slide it isn't going to rain today.  The track should be in the high 15 second bracket and the low 16 second bracket.....there should a some in each bracket.  But I will be willing to say I bet they will be running in the mid to high 16 second bracket in time trials and that equals a boring feature!

You are correct.  Stimely will be in the tractor with it running to pound cushion after every heat race and B-Main.  My guess is that they were not a Lincoln on either night to see that the cushion was never touched all nights except to mist some water and left it alone.

Williams Grove's surface last night was nothing like Port's typical surface. They left a really nice curb roll up and it was slick underneath. Port usually hammers the cushion to death.

The Grove was not a slip and slide. Started out a little rough and choppy but smoothed out with a nice cushion.

Really?  I don't care who it is, Kauffman, Rahmer, Paxton etc.  You do not do that without assistance (i.e. Traction Control, tire doping etc.)  They run with the top wing half cock-eyed anyhow.  And yes replying to a comment on Facebook, the motor in the turns flutters and sounds like a half sick VW.  That is was traction control will do.  I really don't know where the track tech guys are now days.  It is not run what you brung.  The port caught them cheating last year with tires at the Dream race.  And you people really think for as long as Davey Brown has been around that he doesn't know how to cheat???  Also 2 races in a row, Hodnett basically gives him the win.

Innocent until proven guilty... give them credit for the win until you have real proof. Hunches don't count!

Exactly. Last night's surface was the perfect surface for a sprint car race. Well done Williams Grove

Anybody catch that feature at Port last night? Best race I've seen this year. Multiple passes for position in the top 5 only to have guys pass them back. Lance takes the lead late, but Dietrich drives back past him while riding the rim. Zearfoss, Macri, Hodnett, Ryan Smith all going hard, but clean. 30 laps, nonstop....

Late models were great too. Side by side racing for multiple laps.

Buuut, quick time for the sprints was only 16.8 and the guys were turning 19 and 20 second laps in the feature, so the entire night sucked.

Was concerned early when cars were kicking up dust in TT’s, but turned out to be a great A main. Top 6 really going at it. Lance started P3, drop kicked to P6 to the lead only to finish P3. DD hugging the rail, Smith making time on the bottom. Agree, very entertaining race. Doesn’t get much better, but then I’m sure there might be some who disagree.

Please tell us, oh Great One, how many were using traction control and doped tires last night.....or is that theory only valid if the 69k actually wins? Lol

Just goes to show it isn't the absolute high speeds that thrill, but the action on the track. In fact, some of the fastest races are the most boring. I agree, great feature at PR last night. I was a bit suspect early on about the track prep, but they sure brought it in for the features. Glad to see Dietrich win the feature. Not just for the excitement, but because he does do some travel. I for one respect that. He evidently has the opportunity and the desire to expand his racing.

Last year's best race in my opinion was the Labor Day race. A close second would have been the Weikert Memorial race that they ran on Monday. In fact, the Labor Day race has been good for the past 2-3 years, and all of those races I just listed had one thing in common, they were slick.

I mean, if I'm being a picky bastard, Id like to see a little more speed, but damn that was a great race last night. No complaints.

It was a good race. Way too dry early but the water around the outside during intermission helped to bring it back some. The track was still pretty much junk but the race went non stop and we had a bunch of heavy hitters up front battling for the lead. Lapped traffic is really what made it interesting. The leaders had to get rather creative to pick their way through and lapped traffic at a  speedweek race consists of some pretty fast cars. Had a good time.

Something else that was great about the event...the attendance. Grandstands appeared to be about 95% full and the infield was packed. The Grove had a great crowd the night before as well. Good to see!

I was able to attend 4 of the 10 Speedweek shows this year. Lincoln (Mon) Grandview, Williams Grove (Mitch Smith) and Port Royal (last night) and I enjoyed each one. The stands were full, and the atmosphere for all four tracks was tremenous. Some times you get a snoozer of a race, but I honesty enjoyed each of those races for different reasons and drove home each night satisfied that I got my money's worth. I can't wait until the 2019 Pa Speedweek ( Hopefully BAPS is added to the schedule.)

Let me guess what went down last night.

1. Track was showing black after the first late model warm-up.

2. Track was like a labor day race.

3. They admitted they didn't prepare the track right by putting water around the top after the heats.  They missed it and they saved the night by doing that.

4. It was a good race not the best race nobody could run the bottom and gain positions.  Lance did it once but quickly went backwards because he wouldn't come off the bottom.  If you went in on the bottom you skated all the way to the cushion or you would lose positions.

5. It would have been so much better if they would have put water down in the surface of the track instead of on top.  16.8 is too slow for time trials at the Port.

6. Like I said...another slip and slide night at the Port.  You can have that type of racing......I don't and will never like it.  There is a name for that racing....it is called asphalt racing.

Agree on BAPS. It could easily replace at least one track on the current schedule, or at least take one of the days of the tracks that have 2 shows.

That is what my friend told me.  I watched the video....you both were spot on!!  Track was junk.

The track was junk but it made for two damn good races with tons of passing and side by side action. Now, I don't know about BStrawswer, track prep guru, but when I go to a race I want to see side by side racing and lots of passing. Well, there it was last night and seemed like pretty much everyone loved it, from fans to drivers. Imagine that.
