What will go down as arguably one of the wildest sprint car races of the 2007 season, the Short Track Nationals wrapped up on Saturday night.
California's Jason Meyers caught and passed race leader Shane Stewart on the final lap and the two slugged it out with Meyers just slipping by Stewart at the line for the $20,000 win.

DFW area racers Sam Hafertepe, Jr. ( www.sam15.com ), Jason Johnson and Travis Rilat were able to qualify for the Championship feature. Sam starting 20th and finishing 8th; earning the STN Hard Charger award. Travis started 9th and finished 11th. Jason took a hard tumble into the turn 1 catch fence in hot laps to come back and not only qualify for the STN finale, but start 8th and finish 4th.
Many drivers and fans in attendance also stated they plan to come to Cowtown Speedway for the November Sprint Shootout ( www.cowtownspeedway.com/sprintNOV.html ) on Nov. 9-10. Make sure to get your 2-day passes while you are on the Cowtown site in advance and you can get in for just $25. That offer is only good until Nov. 1.
The NSS also will include the Short Track Shootout ( www.darinshort.com/shootout.html ) that will combine the overall points of the STN and NSS in a 4-car, 6-lap race that pays $1,000, $500, $300 and $200; plus the event winner will receive a special award from DarinShort.com.
