Do you know what it costs to setup and stream a PPV? I don't. Do you know what cut the track makes the PPV company pay? I don't.
If you think it's too expensive, don't buy it. If enough people don't buy it they will either lower the price or stop offering the service. Problem solved.

I will not! I will be at the track. This streaming is a rip off!

Good for you....im sure if the rest of us lived 15 minutes from the track we would be there too instead of buying the stream. Until someone forces you to buy the stream your free to not do it...we dont really care. Ive spent hundreds on pay per view for nothing else but something to do when there is no racing going on around here.

Good for you. Live streaming shouldn't be any more than half the price of admission for that night! I never buy live streaming it is always too much. No matter how far I am from the track. 500 or 3,000 miles away from a track it really doesn't matter a rip of is a rip off!

A rip off based on what? Your intimate knowledge of what it costs for the company to provide the service and how much profit they are making? I doubt that, and I doubt they are getting rich. You think it's too much, don't pay it. Very simple concept.

Trust me I will not. I have seen live streaming from Knoxville and a few other tracks. I have never paid for it, but I have seen the Nationals on the cushion and trust me it is not even close to what you can see when you are in person. That is why it is a rip off! Like I said if people going to the track are paying 20.00 the people on the i-net should only have to pay 10.00. The lower the price.....to some extent....you will have more people watching.....and that is a fact Jack!

Since you have it all figured out, maybe you should set up your own streaming service and make lots of money off the many people who will be watching it for the price you will charge.
You already admitted to not knowing what it costs to setup and stream the event, so how in God's name can you make an educated assesment of what the companies should be charging, since you don't know the associated costs or potential revenue (and no, the admission fee at the gate has nothing to do with it). I also don't understand why you are so burnt up about it, you aren't going to buy it anyway, so why should it matter to you?

What you guys have to keep in mind is that Strawser will complain that tracks charge too much for admission to see it live also. He knows what it costs to run all businesses.

No, I never claimed that. But I do know a rip off when I see it. I then call them out on it. I have set in my mind what a race should cost if it goes above that I will not attend that race.
By the way I have been to Williamsgrove, Port, Selinsgrove, and Lincoln this year. Yes, the Williamsgrove trip was the Outlaw show. So you say I will not pay top dollar....you are wrong at least there were 24 quality cars starting the feature that night. That is worth every dollar I spent for that race, plus to see my sons face when he met Donut Boy was a bonus.
Guess which track I saw the worst race at? I will give you a hint.....it wasn't Williamsgrove, Selinsgrove or Lincoln!
I have multiple trips left to Port, Selinsgrove, and williamsgrove. I have one more trip to Lincoln planned for this year.
I don't pick one track to go to anymore. That is boring and my son likes to see different places. I like them all in central pa. I would really like to go to Susky again, I havn't been down there since the late 80's.
Let's go Sprint Car Racing!
Knoxville - Best Track In the USA!
Eldora - 2nd Best Track in the USA!

I was commenting on your last statement on how much it cost to run a business. When did I claim to ever say how much it cost to run a business?....never. I have said some races cost too much! But never how much it cost to run said business.
However, I have been doing income statements for two different businesses - one for 25+ years another one for 2 plus years and one non profit for the last 1.5 years.

Yes, you know me so well. I been to the Knoxville Nationals at least 11times. I have been to Eldora 4 times 3 of which were the Kings Royal. Never leaving PA, Where did you come up with that? Knoxville Nationals in person - there isn't a better race anywhere.
As far as your money that is your business. I could careless. I am only talking about what I would or would not do. I don't like getting ripped off!

I'm glad I saw this thread. After lame ass, don't wanna race Selinsgrove decided to cancel just as the rain was about to stop at 4, I bought the dirtstation broadcast and it was excellent, A+! Well worth a 20 spot IMO and I'm sure it saved me at least $20 in gas. Obviously, nothing's the same as being there but this was a close second. The old footgage during the down time is fantastic. That video of the G-man winning at the Grove in the Zemco 11 damn near brought a tear to my eye. Well done dirt station! Great race at Lincoln as well. Enjoyed the interview with Rico. That man's a class act and a great racer. Glad he's able to come in and race a few.

My only gripe/question about the dirt station broadcast is that there didn't appear to be a button to launch chromecast so I could watch on my TV so I had to watch on my laptop screen.

I live 15 minutes from the track and yes, it is a ripoff. If I lived 500 miles away, I wouldn't purchase this either, because you will only see at most 32 cars. Thursday night will have a lower car count probably around 28. These races should be 12 to 15 each not 19.95 each!

Wrong... over 40 cars at both Path Valley & Lincoln!

After being at Lincoln last night (which was an awesome atmosphere and the biggest crowd I've ever seen there) I wish there was a PPV tonight for Grandview. I could possibly get there, but I've been there for this type of crowd before, which it doesn't have the room for, and having to work tomorrow I can't deal with how long it might take to get out of there tonight. However, I would still like to witness the historic stretch that is going on with Larson and what should just be a great night of racing. I would gladly pony up for a PPV tonight if there was one.
I will be interested to see what the crowds are like at the end of the week (will be at Port Royal and the Grove) after Larson and Kahne are no longer on the Speedweek trail. I know Speedweek always draws good crowds, but the ones so far this week are on another level.

Ski goggles for the turn 1 hill or just sit under the covered grandstand which is usually dust free. I actually used the goggles at Port last week too. IMO Grandview is way worse and Big Diamond was the dustiest ever.

Great, except the only streaming price mentioned was Lincoln's and your complaint was that streaming cost too much.
