Best of luck in your new venture Jeremy. As I've said many times before, the sprint car community is lucky to have a guy like you. I will definitely be purchasing a subscription. I'm sure it will be well worth the money.

Will there be a free trial period so we can see what we are buying before laying out the $50?

Unfortunately, the site is being set up for subscription right away because it's being debuted at Motorsports. We are going to hit the ground running.

However, there will be fresh content when the site is launched. Stories, stats and more will be present. And there will be stories every day leading up to races in Florida, which I will be attending and adding more daily content to the site.

I will be working on these things over the next month. There will also be free aspects to the site. An example is the history and schedules section and the press release section ... I don't believe in getting paid for other people's work. So, fans will be able to get into the homepage and see what is there for free.

I appreciate that. I believe it will, as well. We have a lot of things planned for the site as far as coverage, original content and ticket raffle opportunities the first year and beyond.

I think you can/will make this happen.  A buck a week really isn't much, heck 15 cents a day to break it down to his lowest factor.  I assume you will use some local contributors like Corini and the likes?  I think race reviews from people in the stands is a real plus for those of us who can't get there, something like a Bill W. presentation etc. He has people like Brett Swanson from Down Under and Brandon from Down South helping him out and they do a great job.  Who knows you might have another Eckert or Argabright right under your nose just looking for that break to get started.  The late Wayne Kindness gave me and a whole bunch of others a shot when he had the paper SprintCar, lots of names evolved from that effort....

That is something I might look into once the site gets off the ground and running. Like you, I also wrote my first story for Wayne Kindness.

I'm not as big of a Sprint fan as I am a Late Model fan. None the less I would love to see a Sprint version of DoD. To me though in order of importance on DoD it is as follows:

1. Highlights

2. Highlights

3. Breaking News

4. Live Show

5. Written Content/Power Rankings/Etc.

I'll keep my eye on this and depending on how it goes I may subscribe, but if you could provide weekly highlights in one place from Williams Grove, and especially Lincoln and Port Royal (given that none of us can be at both tracks at the same time) along with maybe WoO and Allstars highlights I would pay $10/mo or whatever indefinitely. Most of these highlights already exist, but finding them can be difficult -- wrangle them up and put them in one spot (whether usage rights would need to paid or whatnot) and I think you are looking at doubling, tripling or more the amount of people interested. None the less with all the Sprint fans in Central PA I'm sure this site will be a success. Good luck, this sport needs more people taking chances and trying out new stuff.

Thanks,

Jeff.

I appreciate the kind words. I'm sure it will be a lot of work, but I like that. The best part is that I can focus all of my efforts on Sprint Car racing without having to worry about covering other sports.

Other sports???? What other sports???? There are other sports????

Going by what has been "free" to this point, I'm sure the subscription will be well worth the money.

Best wishes!

Jeff,
Jeremy can correct me if I'm wrong but it does not sound like it'll be a highlight based venture (though maybe he'll link to those things).  All Star and WoO highlights can be accessed through their respective websites.  Sounds like this will be an extension, with even more content, on the stuff Jeremy did for PennLive (which was excellent content).  Remember DoD has a full staff, etc.  Nonetheless, I agree it takes fortitude to try something like this and our niche sport needs stuff like this, so best of luck to Jeremy.

These are all stories I'm working on and will debut Jan. 20. The bad part about this venture is not having a place to put the information that I'm working on and having to wait until the launch date. I can't express how much I despise waiting to release something.

As for the Highlands ride, nothing new at this point. Same with the Midwest drivers as far as I know. I will be making calls in the next five days.

Thanks again.

This will be an extension of what I did with PennLive, only more content. That being said, a highlights package is something I'm going to look into. I have talked to a couple of people about putting something like that together.

I plan to hit the ground running and provide plenty of content for the launch and afterward. But it will also evolve and new additions can always be part of the equation.

I knew you would be upset. As I am not to be giving them.
