Debatable. I think they would rather get pummeled like usual than to have someone with something unique or different under the hood.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Now if we can just get off this ford thing, who is building his engines next year?

Yeah because something is automatically better just by virtue of being different....

Nice. Thanks. If it just had smaller injector stacks and grey wheels, it would be perfect

please note also this antique Ford sprintcar uses Goodyear tires

I prefer Cumhoe (spelling?) but the hyper-patriotic Lincoln Speedway bunch would never go for it

I'm sure you know shavers has built the motors for Donny for years.....what makes you think the most successful 410 car in the country would be making a change?

Because regardless of what he says, he was wondering if maybe the 15 would be running Ford next year. Think about it, would he EVER ask a question or make a comment about an engine if there wasn't some sort of Ford angle? If he was in fact asking the question for other reasons as he claims, that would be the first time.

He's hoping that since Tony's taxicab teams are switching to Ford that his sprint car teams will as well. The usual.....
|
Isn't that cute.....people still think there are Chevy's and Fords racing in NASCAR. There hasnt been chevys, Fords or mopars in NASCAR in 30 years. Get over it people. just a grill and an emblem. Can't believe the number of morons that stopped watching NASCAR when Tony switched to "Toyota" With gibbs. Tony was driving a Toyota like I am driving a Ferrari.

Heard they were saving a few dollars and getting their NEW FORD crate engines at Sam's Club now......

Never really understood the brand thing myself, at least not people being so intense about it. I somewhat understand folks not wanting Toyota, but even that is overblown. I still remember people being ticked at Mark Martin when he left Roush to go drive Chevys at Hendrick. Yeah, some folks need to get over it. Can't be entirely sure of Minthess's's's original motivation for asking, but I'm assuming he's hoping that Donny switches because Stewart Haas is now Ford in NASCAR.

I can kinda understand the brand thing with stock cars or drag racing but not with sprint cars.

Totally. Even now, as one other poster mentioned, in NASCAR, there are no Fords, Chevy's or Toyota's. Nothing but stickers. Underneath, there's not a damn thing "stock" about them. But at least in the past, stock cars were once passenger vehicles converted into race cars so I can see where people had an allegiance to one make or another....usually based on what they drove themselves and I even understand how some of that may have carried over but sprint cars? They never were tied to any manufacturers. They've always been exactly what they are now: a purpose built, racing vehicle that doesn't even come close to resembling anything sitting on a car lot. I don't get how anyone can be that obsessed over something like that.

Once again. Please get off the ford thing so we can get an answer to my question. Donny would have multiple wins by mid march with Chris Moss Fords but I had zero intentions of this being a Ford saga.

I've heard Andy Durham is developing a ford motor with shavers help with the injection. And this came from Donny himself

Roush Yates have a proven 410 Ford.
Jason Johnson ran one at Knoxville a couple of years back.
Plus I have one my self. Dart block Edelbrock GV2 heads with kinsler injection.
Im sure if there going to run one, combine with Roush Yates/Shaver and Durham they will have a strong Reliable 410 for donny and smoke if they go down that path.
If Smoke runs 360s Jason Johnson race to 3 ASCS titles using RYF 360.

Oh really?
Ask Jason Johnson if he'd like to return that 150 grand.....

That was true back in the 1960s, where I've been accused of being stuck.....
