Probably too early to be concerend, but I sure hope that California doesn't drop from 8 tracks in the spring, down to 3.

Every year I start a thread to fill in the dates for the WoO schedule. This is just for fun, and yes I know the official schedule will be released in a month at the PRI show. The dates I have are either confirmed in other forms of media or dates that are very traditional over the past few years. So if you know a date or two, lets hear about it.

Plymouth (IN) on April 28.
I would surmise that Tri-State in Haubstadt would then be April 29.

After all the updates to the original list I started this thread with, the one date that isn't making any sense right now is May 6 at Wichita, KS. Typically with the Indiana shows the series heads east from there during May. Would be quite the haul back west to hit a couple 1 night shows in the heartland.

The Witchita date will have another race scheduled with it on May 5th. That gives a week in between dates til the 2 day show at Eldora in May. And I wouldn't count on Cottonbowl being the date on March 3.

Last year the Clay County Fair race in spencer was September 16th. So if it is the same schedule out would be the 15th this year.

I know Rockford, IL was to be a one-time only deal. However, I have heard RUMORS that this event will indeed happen again next year. Anyone have info on this?
I know the track was rough and there wasn't a last corner pass, but it was still entertaining and I really enjoyed seeing them go around that place after watching a ton of really boring pavement racing there. It looked like it was supposed to be a dirt track!

Makes sense as you run out of dates with them staying out west for an extra week in September.

Quite frankly there are a bunch of dumb asses on the Clay County Fair board! I'm not going to mention names, but an offer was made by a person with the means to run a Sunday night sprint car program, that had the potential to run a Badlands, Jackson and Clay County series as a real opportunity to have three good purses, close enough together to make it real interesting for drivers, teams and fans. The CC Fairboard woudn't even discuss it. The party making the proposal would have covered all expenses and track upkeep. As it is now, the CCF has a non sprint car series that runs during the summer and they can't get more than 300-400 people in a grandstand that holds about 6,000. This part of Iowa is sprint car country as far as the fans are concerned! There is a great race track facility here not being used, and a Fairboard with their heads in their asses!

I just wonder why it seems that Fairboards that have a racetack on them, have board members with their heads in their asses, when it comes to promoting, and or making improvements to the track to make them more fan friendly. The Kenosha County Fair Board (Wilmot, WI) seems to have the same problems, despite people being told that the 'new blood' will be beneficial to the track. The place has not been updated except for a nice berming of the infield around the inside of the turns, and some drainage fixes, since it was built in the very early 70's.Most, if not all of these people are Farmers and have NO clue as to how to run a track. JMHO We have been getting top notch programs to run, the All Stars, the Outlaws, etc, but the weekly shows pull in atrocious numbers of fans. I hate to see it....

I hope Wilmot, Angell Park and Rockford are repeated. AP and Wilmot were standing room events with good tracks.
Rockford just needs to let the locals play on the dirt the weekend before to help it out.
