If that happened to me I wouldn't have even started this thread. I would not have had a problem with it at all. (though some still would)
My main problem has been the rude responses and in one case being flat out ignored until I got nasty. I simply approach the seats, ask first if I am in section "XX", row "XX" and seats "XXXX". (I want to make sure I am in the right place first) Then I politely ask what seat numbers they have. (Last year I got a shrug of the shoulders and then he turned his head--like he had it planned that he didn't care who reserved what seats he was going to sit there) Then I just simply let them know they will have to move from the seats. Seems reasonable, doesn't it?
Most times, the first thing that happens is they scoot down about 4 inches and instead of covering 2-1/2 of our seats they are now only covering 2 seats. At this point, all polite dialogue is off. It is followed by "I don't care if you move down or leave, but you are going to have to leave those two seats. This is usually followed by the shaking of the head--or in this year's case at Beaver Dam, the eyeroll to the husband from the rude wife who wouldn't get up and move her entire family of 4 out of our seats when all they had was general admission. I don't care if you want to give it a shot. But when the jigs up, the jigs up. Get up and move and realize no one but you did anything wrong.

There is one funny note to this thread, there are admitted squatters on it. My thoughts are rather simple, if you want to sit in reserve, buy reserved seats! If not...stay the hell out of them.

Rev, I save a ton of seats with blankets and if you were sitting there when I come to sit, I would let you know the situation. I would tell you that you are welcome to stay unless everyone shows up. Sometimes guys do not show up as planned and that way you have a seat and everyone is happy. If guys are assclowns, they go right away......
