i agree and disagree. Schatz and Brown obviously have been "factors" the last 3 years but to say Pittman is a factor is a stretch at best and Shane and brad had good runs last year but what about Madsen? He's been bad fast the last 2 years. Henderson has to be a factor with his runs the last 3 years and McMahon for sure should be on your list before Pittman although I don't think he is a factor even with his great runs the previous few Nationals. With that said my top 5 this year in no particular order would be Schatz, TMac, Kerry, Dude and Sweet. And yes I know Brown isn't on my list but unless something changes for him this year he's more in thag 6-10 bracket in my opinion And I think Hodnett, Stevie Smith, Henderson & Shane Stewart join him. What do y'all think? A lot can change between now and August. Can't wait!

Yes--Kerry too. My point was that after watching the qualifying nights everyone has a pretty good sense of who the 4 or 5 drivers in the field capable of winning the Nationals are. Not to say that "on any given night...." But to be realistic, we all know who they are once the green drops. Pittman? Maybe a stretch the last two years or so, but he was a factor a few years back very late in the race if I remember correctly. ?? (My brain gets clouded with barley pop that late) I was simply pointing out that Kahne would likely not be a "factor" as far as winning the Knoxville Nationals and I think everyone would take Larson very seriouly. This is all based on tangible facts not just a gut feeling.
Can't wait for August either!

No worries! I wasn't trying to shoot you down just throwing my 2 cents in the mix. Larson could for sure make some noise up front I think he was up around 8th a few years back?? And I agree with Kahne not being a factor although he has been a lot better in a sprint car as of late him making the A would be a win for him.

As you know now Bruce, Larson won the first Midget race with Clauson second,
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.
