Vande77, as usual you are an expert but as you say you don't own a car & don't have a dog in the fight...then stop your rediculous comments!! Do you think yur helping someone? YOUR NOT!!!

When I read these idiotic comments it reminds me of one of my favorite promoters Craig Cormack. Smart man, great business man, loved Sprint Cars. Decided he wanted to buy Eagle Raceway. Put a ton of $$ into the facility, promoted big races. Because of all the bitching & whining on the message boards he sold out & said "I don't need this". How is Eagle now Sprint Car lovers??

Seriously Blazer? Bitching about the $27? Do you know what that driver get's anywhere else? Or last year? ZERO!!!! What Brennan is paying for a purse is MORE than enough, the tow $$ is unbelievable icing on the cake.

What do ASCoC teams get if they drive to PA. & get rained out after they unload? ZERO!!!

What do WoO teams get if they drive to NY. & get rained out after they unload or even hot lap? ZERO!!!

What Brennan & Quiring are doing for Sprint Car racing not only in this area but eventually across the US is amazing!!

What CB & TQ are doing for the fan's is amazing!

My biggest fear isn't that I won't get my tow $$ or that my silver bars won't be worth as much as I thought. My biggest fear is that these wealthy, intelligent businessmen will keep reading this stupidity & say "Cormack was right, I don't need this".

BTW, this is Terry McCarl. I own more than one team & I promote sprint car events. Vande77 (Ron??) what do you do for the sport??

Excellent response. Without promotors there would be no racing, without drivers there would be no racing and without fans there would be no racing, we all need each other in this sport.

If Saturday's race is rained out, the show moves to Sunday...that is correct.

However, we are keeping the 360 Sprint Cars in the Sunday show. Therefore, the new Sunday show will be 410 Sprint Cars, 360 Sprint Cars, IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and Late Model Street Stocks. Should be a great show! They winners would receive $5,000 for 410, $2,500 for 360, $1,000 for IMCA and $1,000 for LMSS.

Regarding the "opening of a building"...basically that just means the track opens when the back pitgate opens in the afternoon. Just trying to be forthright and have a secure plan in place since we're paying out such large numbers this season, which now includes the TAP.

Thank you for the clarification.

I would hope that the website would reflect that 360 Sprints will be added to the show on the Rainout Policy on the website (for both the track (in the event of a rainout on a Saturday, I wouldn't want the 360 teams thinking that they weren't part of the show) and the fans (you can list it as a "bonus" class added due to the rainout on Saturday).

Thank you for clarifying what the "Driver Services Building" is (the pit shack).  I have never (and I highly doubt anyone else has either) heard it referred as anything other than the Pit Shack in the past or at any other racetrack.

Yes, I can see circumstances where the building doesn't open at all.  I wouldn't expect you to pay tow $$ if a race is rained out at 3:00 PM and the "pit shack / driver services building" doesn't open until 4:00 PM weekly.  That makes business sense.

Appreciate you taking the time to answer the questions.   By clarifying, it only helps Badlands, not hurt.

Well yeh, I was serious about the $27.00. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for your success, you're the best we have here as an Iowa driver and you do race the hell out of a sprint car. But in the same breath, you do have a tad more than the TAP money in your pocket from Badlands (CB). So,  TAP as "icing on the cake?". Depends what the cake is you're eating wouldn't you think? I'm about the drive who doesn't have your success. Yeh there will be those who might say it's that fellows own fault, but that is the guy the sport has to have. I'm about tow money or any other form of support that can be provided for the driver say outside the top 5, or top 10. The top 5-10 who are taking the majority of the purse money home could live without tow money I'm sure. Maybe a small bonus for the highest finishing driver or two in the Feature that are outside the top 10 in current seasn points.....a "purse within a purse" sort of thing. Lastly.....I don't give two shits that other tracks or series may not pay tow money or what was paid last year. We only have today and hopefully a lot of tomorrows. We're talking about change here. And you best hope that the fields at the local tracks don't dwindle to mirror the number of signed WoO teams. Heaven forbid the day comes when there are only 13 cars in the infield weekly at the local level. So long success for anybody.

Terry,

I was simply asking a question.  Mr. Savage answered it intelligently and clearly.  That's all I asked for, a CLEAR answer.

The questions I asked were simple and were not a knock to Badlands or any other Racetrack, they were simply questions (which as a promotor, you should be able to answer) that people have.  Does ZERO good to be defensive.  If you say one thing and print another (website), people are going to question it.  Mr. Savage clarified in his response.  My hope is that the clarify on their website as well, which would mean that the question is no longer there for anyone to ask.

Your right, I don't own a team, but without fans in the stands, there would be no racing.  We've all seen promotors and team owners come into the sport and spout off about how they are going to change the game and they can do it better only to see broken promises and drivers/team owners left holding the bag.  Outlaw Show indoors in Orlando, FL ring a bell?   How about non-existent point fund checks?

No, I am not Ron.

What do I do/have done for the sport?  I support YOU (the driver/team owner) by attending race events you race in (no butts in seats = no races or smaller purses), I support YOU (the promotor) by attending the event(s) you promote, I support YOU (the driver) by purchasing T-shirts.  I've helped crew on a team (a long time ago before I was married and had kids), I support the KRCO (who supports YOU the drivers).   But, I guess none of that matters to you because someone asked a simple question.

I'll answer this for everyone on here. YOU are the whiny bitch on here and everyone is sick of the know-it-all attitude and that YOU think you have all the answers and that YOU are God's gift of a sprint car fan.

It takes a lot for a driver to come on here and try to defend the sport and I appreciate the post from TMAC.

Having been employed at Eagle Raceway when Mr. Cormack decided to end his reign at the helm (as well as being a HUGE dirt track racing fan), I can tell you that I feared greatly for the track's future. Luckily, we found someone who cared maybe even more for racing than Mr. Cormack to purchase the track.

Yes, Mr. Cormack's departure was definitely hastened by the "Keyboard Commandos"!

By the way Terry; we've doubled the sprint car count from what it was a few years ago. Smile C'ya soon hopefully man.

I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks

Actually Ron which is not Vande77 owned a racecar. And actually won two championships with a racecar but you wouldn't know that because of the ignorance that if you don't see them at a sprintcar race you wouldn't know. How do i know because i drove to both of the those championships. Parked beside your son a couple nights but once again you wouldn't know that either. If you honestly think you know everything do the research. Ron quit owning a racecar because he's retired from his job and has more important things to do in life like spend time with his grandkids.

I get dizzy reading the "driver payout" info for all classes, qualifying money, tow money, etc. on the Badlands Motor Speedway website.  Mind boggling but was told by more than one person from Sioux Falls that Chuck Brennan's pockets aren't deep, they are very very deep, but how deep into them is he willing to go.  So far he's kept his word, $spending millions on renovation.  Anyone know if him and Tod Quiring (spelling?) are friends? Need those type of people in this sport of dirt track racing.

Once Chuck openly admitted that he had it out to go against Knoxville I feared for the sport in this area. TMac quoted that "there is one thing that Knoxville has that you can't buy, and that's history and tradition." Well apparently that is exactly what he is trying to do. I hope for the best with both tracks for this season on trying new things but you know that everyone will be comparing what each track is doing week in and week out. Having the tracks compete rather than trying to build up the racing in the area will not end well. Unfortunately, we will just have to wait and see who all it will not end well for.

I think we're all going to have to agree to disagree on husets for the time being-  but.......I think we can  ALL agree that Craig Dallansky could barrow Brian Brown's (Caseys teammates) 360 car and still finnish in the top 10 in Knoxvilles 410 class. Agreed?

I have a comment about part of your post. You say " the drivers will have the final say on where they will race." That is not completely true unless the driver is also the car owner. The car owner WILL DECIDE where and when his/her race car races not the driver. My driver has alot of input where and when we race but since i pay the bills , we race when and where i want to race. Just wanted to clarify that part of it...No insult intended

Where was I bitching, I was trying to answer the post about who got the TAP. I haven't missed a sunday night at Huset's in over thirty years. You are the reason alot of people don't post on here anymore moron.

Mainly talking about the four or five jealous school girls that get on here everytime there is something about BMS, hect even some of them left this one alone.

Its great that Badlands is paying this kind of money , but a circuit of two nights would make more sense then running against each other . And it would be great for fans in that area as well .

Well it kind of is, you have Jackson and Grand Forks on Fri, and Knoxville and BMS on Sat. Seems to me it gives alot of teams some options to run for some good money closer to home, plus the bottom line here is that BMS was getting less than 20 410's alot of time less than 15 with that said, still had some of the best races in the country (jmo) however to most fans 15 410's in the infield doesn't seem to be a good value, 25 different story so something had to change and you can argue with the new purse Sunday would work, but at the same time its still Sunday and that leaves alot of teams at home, plus none of the Knoxville regulars travel period, not counting the 4 or 5 guy's that do it for a living so actually it seems to be a great deal for Sprint car teams in the upper Midwest almost 300,000 people in the Sioux Falls metro area I think Sprint car racing on Saturday night and Sun. will be a good thing. So any way does that sum up this tow money thing.

Vande77, as usual you are an expert but as you say you don't own a car & don't have a dog in the fight...then stop your rediculous comments!! Do you think yur helping someone? YOUR NOT!!!

Thanks for being an experienced voice of reason Mr McCarl.
