They need to leave the rules alone for for a few years.  All the changing around is just making teams stay away.

What rule changes are making what teams stay away?

Slip tubing, front axle thickness, and next year 5 steel dzus for a mud cover. It's not that it costs that much on the grand scheme, but it's just a pain. Only to run with them three or four times a year. This is just a hobby right?

Reasoning for steel dzus buttons on the wheel cover?

Good question.  Carbon wheel cover with steel dzus. If this becomes manditory where we race, I'll make mine have 6.

No kidding. Seems like a goofy rule change that doesn't accomplish anything.

Cause aluminum ones get worn and fall out. Then we have a 120mph saw blade flying through the air.  We had one come off our late model at Selinsgrove and luckily it went over the turn 1 wall and out into the grass. One of these things get over a catch fence and into the stands, it would be ugly.

Basically a Pa thing KKR came and got Darrah to leave and use him for R&D for three years basically took what Darrah had here and molded it into their kind and took all of it. Lee, Cappetta and other's.  Lee made a sweet deal with Ricky also a Pa guy to allow him to lead points so that his value grew and KKR would pay him what he needed. As Pa has no team owners willing to pay them the salaries they demanded.  Nor the funds to make up a team's demands as the level of theses guys want. More to come

a real pain? It will be a bigger pain when there isn't a track to race because a wheel cover went flying into the stands! sounds pretty selfish to be worrying about it being a pain

So much for the myth that when Steve Kinser retired the Outlaws would fall to pieces.  They've got a new sponsor and multiple winners.  Seems to me that it will be a good year.  Some locals are bound to take a race or two when they come around NSL, All Star and PA territory.  In a way that is a necessity and what has kept me coming back all of these years.  The idea that one of the local favorites has a shot at winning was the concept that the series was built upon and the thing that peaked fan interest.

1. The format

2. Wider tires

3. Added downforce

These rules were implemented this year for the sole

purpose of giving the Outlaws more advantage to

keep their teams in the money. I can't believe anyone pays

to go see that format. Obviously team owners have caught on.

Excuse me,  But WTH happened to stuffing a oversized piece of foam in a wheel?   Setting your air pressures before you hit the track etc.  200 here,  500 there.   You think the weekend racer can keep up?    A weekend PA racer has one, maybe two cars and two or three motors.

The Outlaws have six to chassis to choose from and likely just as many motors.  All having they're strenghts and weeknesses.  That motor runs great on Quarters,  That one on Half's  etc.

The resources have a ton to do with the advantage,  Not to mention racing a huge variety of tracks.

Chill out. I never said anything about it being a pain. I simply asked the reasoning. I think five of them is fine, but five aluminum dzus buttons would suffice.

Decrease the wing size and they'd be alot more interesting to watch.

"Greatest Show On Dirt" is a gross exaggeration in my opinion. I guess it's really exciting if you like to watch follow the leader for 35 laps and pay the highest amount per even vs. all santioning bodies of all classes.

It really takes a picture perfect track at any venue for the WOO to have a classic show these days. I still take them in, just not entirely as much as I used to.  Has nothing to do with who's still racing or not racing or winning either. Has more to do with ticket cost vs. my excitement payback back in the night's A-Main.

Need to run no bigger than a 3/8 mile oval. The big 1/2 miles produce little passing due to the downforce and dirty air it creates. Non-wing cars are much slower but produce much better racing imo and I go mostly to winged races.
