And pt 2 of the earlier Heroes slideshow

(orange car #4 page 1 - last item - Please satisfy my curiosity - The guy standing on the right looks alot like Cecil Appel and seems to be wearing one of his Appel High Performance racing T-shirts. He is standing with the same posture as I remember him. I used to do alot of crank grinding at Automotive Machine Shop for him many many years ago after I got out of the service.

Wish I could confirm it for you, but I can't.

Grady Wade and Cecil Appel at Dodge City by the John Schippert car. Could be 1975. Grady retired after the Hutchinson Nationals in 1975 and moved to Little Rock, AR later.

Thanks Warren - Kinda thought so. Same T shirt as I am wearing in my icon photo. Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.

The Sedalia Mile is gone. I used to drive by it to get to the truck stop on the south side of town. I use to deliver to the place on the north side of town that makes the Waterloo and other tool boxes. Also delivered JM insulation to Lowes also. There was very good restaurant there next to the truck stop right on US 65.
