Patocka First Ever LM Victory is a Hutch National Championship!
Hutchinson, Kansas - July 25, 2015 - Touring rookie of the year contender Damian Patocka took the lead on the start and never looked back to claim the biggest victory of his racing career as he won the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products/Nesmith Weekly Crate late model feature Saturday night, atop the famed Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas during the 59th running of the O’Reilly Auto Parts Hutchinson Grand Nationals presented by Mel Hambelton Ford.
Patocka took the lead at the start and despite a lap six caution involving Tyler Stucky, Brad Morris, Jeremy Hamen and Wylan Petrie that slowed the pace, set sail the final nine laps to claim his first career late model victory.
Veteran and former Hutchinson Grand Nationals champion Delbert Smith finished second, followed by Daniel Smith, Dusty Leonard and Derrick Klima. Kip Hughes was running third coming out of turn three and four but broke, dropping him to a sixth place finish at the line.
The next event for the NCRA/Nesmith Weekly Crate late model tour will be this coming Saturday night, August 1, at 81 Speedway in Park City.
