RED RIVER SPEEDWAY'S $25,000 PANHANDLE 30 SET FOR SUNDAY, MAY 24!

Wichita Falls, TX (5/18/15) by DarinShort.com. The $25,000 Red River Speedway (RRS)Panhandle 30 featuring Limited Modifieds, Modifieds and Sprint Cars will be the next race on the 2015 schedule. This is a one day event taking place Sunday May 24th (of Memorial Day weekend).

Back in the day, Wichita Falls was home to companies such as the Panhandle Oil Company, and this event name helps pays homage to the heritage of the area.

With very little racing in the region taking place on May 24th, coupled with rules packages in each division that are common at many other tracks, fans can expect a great turnout of cars in each of the racing divisions.

Panhandle 30 payback by division:

Limited Modifieds (30 laps): $3,000 - 1,200 - 800 - 600 - 500 (5th) - 400 - 300 - 250 - 200 - 175...to 24th. All non-qualifiers receive $30. All SSM rules apply, with the following: cars must weigh 2,350# after the race (with driver). Hoosier H500 or IMCA 500 only (27 x 8 x 15 or 265. x 8 x 15 only). No engine claim. Minimum driver age 15.

Sprint Cars (25 laps): $1,000 - 700 - 500 - 400 - 350 (5th) - 300 - 250 - 225 - 200 - 190 (10th) - 180 - 170 - 160 - 150 - 140 (15th) - 135 - 130 - 125...to 24th. All non-qualifiers receive $50. RaceSaver Sprint Car rules, or, 100% Red River Speedway legal Champ Sprint rules. Your car must be either RaceSaver or RRS Champ Sprint legal; no mix-and-matching of rules. Our transponder times repeatedly show these two rules packages run neck and neck with each other, and makes it really fun for the fans to watch. Minimum driver age 16.

Modifieds (25 laps): : $1,000 - 700 - 500 - 400 - 350 (5th) - 300 - 250 - 225 - 200 - 190 (10th) - 180 - 170 - 160 - 150 - 140 (15th) - 135 - 130 - 125...to 24th. All non-qualifiers receive $50. Modifieds must be USRA rules legal. Minimum driver age 16.

Mufflers or cone-type inserts are required for all cars in all divisions. Detailed division rules posted at the track website. This is a non-points event.

All features start 24 cars and non-qualifier money will be paid in all three divisions. There are no entry fees in any racing division. If you have yet to register your car for the 2015 season at RRS, there is a $30 registration fee that covers the rest of the year.

Due to all of the rainouts, we're going to change things up a bit for the previously scheduled Open Practice night on Friday, May 22:

-We will still be having open practice (for any and all racing divisions), with all pit passes $15 (all ages) and the grandstand will be open with free admission. Gates open by 7pm and practice will run until around 10:30pm.

-However, drivers attending the Open Practice in the Factory Stocks, Mini Stocks and Pro Stocks will each get to have some added fun. Each division will have a $200 to win "Winner Takes All Dash for Cash" later on in the practice session. There is no entry fee or transponder fee to participate, just your $15 pit pass when you arrive for practice.

-Drivers choosing to take part in the Dash for Cash will sign up their car and draw for position at a time and location announced in the pit area during practice. The number of laps in each Dash will be determined by the number of drivers that sign up in each division. Posted RRS rules for each division will be in effect.

Here are the specifics for the SUNDAY, May 24th racing program at Red River Speedway:

-Pits open by 3pm, Grandstands open at 5pm, and racing starts at 7pm. Draw cutoff 5:15pm and mandatory Drivers Meeting at 5:45pm, Track Packing and Hot Laps to follow immediately after.

-Adult tickets are just $15 (ages 12-64), while Kids 6-11 are $5, and ages 5 and under are free with adult admission. Seniors 65+/Active Military can enjoy the racing program for just $12. All pit passes for all ages are $35.

-No outside food, drinks and/or coolers allowed through ticket gates; a full selection of economically priced food concessions, including beer, are available.

-Click http://www.RRSpeedway.com or the track Facebook page http://www.Facebook.com/RedRiverSpeedway for complete event details, flyer, purse structure, rules, directions and much more.

Please make plans now to spend part of Memorial Day weekend at Red River Speedway with the running of the first ever Panhandle 30 - Let's Kick a Little Dirt!

RED RIVER SPEEDWAY WEEKEND UPDATES - as of FRIDAY, MAY 22, 9:50AM:

First off, TONIGHT'S OPEN PRACTICE is now RAINED OUT.

The track and property last night looked good, but this morning we were supposed to receive between .1" and .2" of rain, which would have been no big deal. Well, that didn't happen, it's rained over .5", which is way too much to dry at this juncture in the day.

Regarding Sunday's huge Panhandle 30 event, we will provide an update tomorrow morning. We have been monitoring the forecast closely; and between that and the actual radar, we will have to wait to see what it looks like then; as no one will be leaving to come to the race until after that time.

Until then, we'll just wait for time to pass and see what mother nature has in store for us all next. Again, we'll post updates here and at www.RRSpeedway.com when there are updates. So please be patient until that time comes. Thanks!
