Based on deadspin.com, things look grim. Wishing the best for all involved.

Apparently Tony was pissed after they made contact. Ward got out of his car and when Tony came back by the next time he nailed the gas to scare Ward, but his car slid out and he hit Ward. Someone there said his body flew at least 25 feet. They called life flight, but then cancelled it.

Only thing that i have read from ESPN, FOX, and Deadspin is that his car struck another driver. Multiple reports though from people at the race are stating that he reved up the engine as the other driver was walking up to the car. I saw on another post where someone stated that Ward passed away on a previous thread. All that I have seen as far as a condition report on the driver is that the hospital has confirmed that they are treating a driver from that track for serious injuries but they will not confirm the name out of respect for the family.
I hope the worst is not the case but no matter what this is a horrible situation. Thoughts and prayers to Kevin Ward's family.

Nothing is confirmed or denied yet...and Facebook is not a news source. Let the facts come out.....Kevin Ward's condition will be confirmed soon enough....let's be respectful.

Holy crap. Video is pretty unsettling. Much more debatable than I originally thought - I don't think anyone made a good decision.

Agreed. And the witness reports in the USA Today article aren't even totally accurate. The headlines would have you believe Stewart aimed his car at him. Prayers for Kevin Ward....

I watched the video. It didn't look like the cars made contact prior to the flip. The "hot head" was the individual running out on to the race track, literally dodging other cars while they slowed under caution. I would be very careful about a rush to crucify the 14.

I agree the kid was acting as stupid as Stewart has 1000 times in his career. Difference is Stewart stabbed the throttle at the kid and the RR jumped out and caught him even if a very bad misjudgement. He didn't slow down or hit the brakes. He mashed the gas AT HIM. That's what the jury is going to see.
Just because he didn't really mean it to happen, doesn't mean it didn't. Some things you just have to accept responsibility for and pay the piper.
