Trying to set my barrel valve. Had it set where I wanted it, but it doesn't drop down far. Only about 40 (or 60 on the gauge) when it's held wide open. Any thoughts?

The spool may be upside down. Take the fitting out of the top and look at the spool. You should see the hole for the secondary (low speed) and the slot for the fuel. As you open the throttle the hole should disappear and the slot get larger. If your spool is a Hilborn and you have a sprint car injector it should have a 52 on the end of it. That number will be upside down on the top of the slot in the end of the spool. When you get it right the percentage will always go up as you open the throttle, it will not dip back down. Depending on your gauge it will probably not get to 100%. Also make sure the leakage will pull down to less than 5%, some barrel valves will get wear and or corrosion in them. Hope this helps.
