How does the points fund money work with the professionally teams?   Does Pittman keep it all?   Is it the same percentage that he drove for during the season?   Some other number?

Thanks

Jon

most likely hes getting somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,000-$2,000 a week salary and somehwere around 40% of the winnings, and 50% of the winnings if he wins, would assume since he won points he would get whatever his normal percentage of the winnings would be, guessing about 50%

I doubt any sprint car driver makes that much. That would damn near equal the entire $150k

i would presume the the weekly salary stated is on a bit of the high side.  Mid level NHRA and  NASCAR drivers receive in the area of $750 to $1,000 per week in salary for the season.  Off season is not paid.  The percentages are spot on.  We must keep in mind when we presume the 6 figure salaries, the driver is responsible for his own expenses.  The expenses include travel to the races, lodging, meals, as well as insurance for he and his family.  He has no pension plan, only a 401k or similar plan.  Not a life for me....

2k may be a bit high but 1k is fairly reasonable, I know of a few drivers who get 500 a week salary with 40-50 percentages that are not on the WoO tour, figured a high profile team such as the 9KKR team would atleast get double the salary, but then again I could be totaly wrong, but we will probably never know lol

$1,000 to $2,000 a week in salary very wrong, way off.  Most drive for a percentage of purse and that's about it.  Mid level napscar drivers receive $750 to $1,000 a week in salary?  Again, ya gotta be way off on that, way way off.

I would assume Pittman gets 50% of the car's earnings, which were in upwards of $400k this year. The top Outlaw guys do pretty well based on that 40-50% of earnings assumption.
