UMSS Informational Meeting Set for Saturday March 19
By: Greg Parent, UMSS Media Director
Stillwater, MN (2-25-11)

With anticipation running high for the upcoming 2011 racing season, the Upper Midwest Sprintcar Series (UMSS) will hold a general information meeting for all three divisions on Saturday, March 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Joe Senser's Sports Bar & Grill located near the junction of Highway 36 and I-35W in Roseville, MN. Series CDO Ron Bernhagen will discuss the upcoming season including schedule and purse updates. Additional topics include memberships, excess insurance, teching options before the season begins, marketing and promotional opportunities, the redesigned website, and the introduction of a videographer who will be at many 2011 UMSS events. The meeting will conclude with a general discussion session to field questions and comments from those in attendance. Drivers, car owners and fans are encouraged to attend this preseason meeting. It is their opportunity to gain additional insight and have direct input into how the UMSS conducts its operations and activities for the upcoming racing season.

Interest and excitement for the onset of the 2011 UMSS season continues at a strong pace. Several new cars and drivers are ready to enter UMSS competition in one of the three divisions beginning in 2011. Several others are planning a return to sprint car racing. With the UMSS winged 360 sprint cars entering their third season of fast-paced action, the new Traditional Sprint Car Series for non-winged sprints launching its first season to introduce area fans and tracks to this exciting open-wheel form of racing, and the popular Micro Sprint League embarking on its second season, area race fans and competitors have many options available that did not exist or were much more limited just a few years ago. The UMSS continues to advance the sport of sprint car racing in and around the Twin City metro area with additional expansion further out gaining more momentum with each passing season. More information about the UMSS can be found on their newly redesigned website at www.umsprints.com or by checking the UMSS Facebook page. Soon the sights and sounds of another exciting and entertaining season of UMSS sprint car and micro sprint racing will be set to take center stage at several area race tracks. Come and experience the energy rush known as sprint car racing!

Reminder: UMSS Informational meeting scheduled for 11:00 a.m. this Saturday March 19 at Joe Senser's Sports Bar & Grill in Roseville. This meeting is for all three UMSS series including the winged sprints, the traditional (non-winged) sprints and the micro sprints. A 2011 season preview along with some related items will be discussed.

The Kopellah Speedway meeting at Loggers Bar & Grill in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin will start at 3:30 p.m. and is primarily for the other (stock car) classes that will or are projected to run at the track. The traditional sprints and micro sprints are scheduled to run weekly with a few Friday nights off, so the main focus of this meeting will be on the other classes of cars.
