I've already got it on my calendar. We already have 15-20 cars committed for this event and I know a few are coming from Wichata Falls.

See you there.

Dan

Anyone who can make it to Cowtown on August 21st, go to www.texasopenwheel.com, then scroll down to Vintage Texas Openwheel and use the sign up sheet to register. Drew Williams is going to submit a list to the promoter so that he can get a count and print us passes. We have 13 -14 cars already signed up. It should be a great time.

The 84 car still needs some work, James took my other car and we lost the heads, pushrods and a couple of rockers, but it was fast up to that point. We will start this the repair this weekend with my good heads. When James called today he was in Lincoln,Neb at Speedy Bills buying parts. We will be ready for Cowtown.

The car count for the Vintage Texas Open Wheel show at Cowtown Speedway is now at 23 cars. With the USAC/SMRS Midgets running at RPM Speedway in Crandall Friday night and then Cowtown Speedway Saturday night this is going to be a big racing weekend. The Vintage cars will have track time Saturday night at Cowtown. For more information and a sign up sheet visit www.TexasOpenWheel.com

We had a great turn-out this past weekend at Cowtown Speedway. Here is a link to a set of photos from a local journalist.

We had 20 cars at the event and 9 went out for some track time.

A great time was had by all. Wichita Falls next.

Dans28Tdr, What did you think of the track at Cowtown?, been there many times and never seen a bad Sprint show, interesting place with 2 dirt tracks and a Drag Strip all side by side.

JDsprint71, The Cowtown Speedway is very nice and well prepped for racing. I missed out on track time because my car had problems but the guys I talked to who were on the track had a great time. It's a shame that there are two track right next to each other and that they race on the same night. When my father raced back in the late 60's and 70's all of the local tracks had their night and he could race several nights in a row. If you have a car in Fort Worth you need to pick your track because I was told that they do not share the same set of rules. I hope we can make this an annual event and I will get some laps on the track.

Dan, It is very unusual deal on New Hope Rd. in Kennedale,Tx. , I do know that they do work together on some things and that is good but they do run different rules and even different classes as well , have been there for a Sprint show at Cowtown and they had 188 cars in the pit area at Cowtown and across the fence they had I believe it was 202 car count , that is 390 total cars between both tracks and knew then that they have something special around that area and it told me racing is alive and well on New Hope Rd. in Kennedale , Tx. ,plus they had a full pit for the Drag races just down the street that day as well.

Like both tracks and have watched races on both and it is a very unique deal they have there.

Maybe next time you will get some laps at the place , for a small track it sure is wicked fast.
