The Press release for Destiny Motorsports said that Paul McMahan will move to team manager.   My question is what are the roles and reponsibilities for a team manager?   Is this an on the road position?  Part time on the road?  Or perhaps stay at home role and pay all of the bills and line up the schedules?   Does every team have one or is it hit or miss?

Thanks

Jon R

I think he's going to at home managing the teams bills and logistics. He's already doing that so I think it's just a way for him to stay involved. McMahan said he wanted to run a 40-50 race schedule next year so I think he'll be at home a lot more.

He'd be perfect for a part time ride running Ohio speedweek, the Nationals and other events. With the right package, he's still a very good time trialer which can lead to success much like Saldana.

Good question, seems to me like it may be a temporary position made up to keep a fired driver from the unemployment lines until he can find something else. McMahon is a good guy according to nearly everyone and even though it wasn't working out, maybe they didn't want to leave him high and dry for the remainder of the season.

This team must be jinxed. I hope nothing but the best for them.  Seems they have always had great equipment and good drivers but they have never had success or speed.  I am only a seasoned fan that had no idea how hard it is to be successful out on the road so I will not judge.

they announced the same at stoga last night.  it is apparent that teams need drivers that bring the wins so the bills get paid.  we see that effect all over the racing world, you don't bring the wins, you do something else with another team.  not surprising the "pauls to the wall" is not putting it "to the wall" this year!

so, team manager?  we draw our own conslusions don't we?

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

success much like saldana ? really.  I don't think you'll be seeing saldana in a woo ride, those days are over. He's going to become a regional driver at best. McMahan can land a seat to run the all star deal and some higher paying shows, thats if he wants to run his limited schedule. If joey can land a full time all star ride it would be great, i just don't see it happening.

Very good point above. Funny but true.

Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!
