Sooner Late Models, Modifieds back at Enid Speedway on Saturday
By John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (July 5, 2017) - Sooner Series Late Models and Modifieds return to action this Saturday at Enid Speedway. It will be the second appearance of the season at Enid for the two classes. Their last visit was on May 6 at the tracks season opener.
The Late Models will be racing for the second time in five days after a Monday, July 3, date at Crawford County Speedway in Van Buren, Arkansas. Logan Ellis picked up his first series victory and will be looking to build on that momentum on Saturday. The victory allowed Ellis to close within five points of second place Jason Redman who finished ninth at Crawford County after leading much of the race.
The modified division will be in action for the first time since June 10 when Ronnie Gould visited victory circle at Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada. Gould won over Broady Robe and Kyle Goforth. Robe’s second place finish allowed him to take over the series points lead over Kirby Robe.
In the divisions season opener at Enid Mickey Lassiter won over a 27-car field.
Enid Speedway in located at the Garfield County fairgrounds in Enid. Gates open at 2 p.m. with hot laps at 5 and the first green flag waving at 6.
