I was looking for some input on Nickle Bros. Steering gears. Just wondering if there are any drivers or owners who have used them and how they may compare to Profile, Kse, etc.    thanks

I've been out of the game for quite a while but they were fairly popular around here (Ohio) back in the day. Their shop was in Lima and I used one of their pumps. I believe one of them passed not long ago

We always used NBC pumps and gears. Never had a failure. When weight started to become a big thing, that is when the NBC stuff started losing a little ground. Don and Harold did make some lighter weight gears, but it usually cost a little more than the KSE gear at the time. I see some NBC right hand drive gears pop up from time to time on Indiana Open wheel.

Agree with dirt 74. Ran there stuff for years with no problems. Unfortunately there pricing on there new stuff was higher and KSE did a great deal of advertising.  That and there efforts at PRI paid off.

one thing that can be said about power steering is that....without it the small drivers would never make 35 and 40 laps. I was talking to Lynn Paxton at the Eastern racing museum and he said that the little guys would of never made it in the old days.

I raced an asphalt sprint car race without power steering for forty laps around a tight 1/4.  My forearms were so cramped afterwards I couldn't I could barely use my hands for a couple days.  It took a while to get out of the car.

Imagine if that was an elbows up 1/4 dirt bull ring like Kokomo...would've been full on jello arms for days, hahaha.
