Just reading Knoxville results and noticed there were only enough cars for 2 heats in each class!!! Where the hell are all of the cars? No more B Mains!!! I took this Independance Day weekend off to go to the 2-day NSL show but if there's not going to be any cars there I'm not so sure I will now.

Not really. Badlands had the same half dozen cross-over cars, maybe 10-12 ND cars, half a dozen 360's and the usual 410 cars. Chris Mrtin #44 may have been about the only new Knoxville car there last night.

There should be plenty of cars friday night as the Badlands bought drivers will be there at Knoxville. Saturday will have fewer cars than friday, but a good show wil probably happen. There is no doubt in my mind that the Badlands owner is trying to hurt Knoxville and NSL by doubleing his purse> Should NSL match him, I do not know. The idea of bought drivers sort of smells to me. There is also the economy which is not as good as Obama says. How long will Badlands be able to throw money around, who knows. Sooner or later they will have to make a profit or at least break even.

If the South Dakota voters cut the interest that he can charge at the Dollar Loan Centers from 300%+ all the way down to 36% he might not be so generous throwing around dirty money.

Well if you were not there you missed a hell of an A main. It was worth the price of admission by itself.
It would be nice to have Zomer, TK, Dobs & Henderson at Knoxville every week but I have seen great racing without them.

First off I'm not wanting to start a long string on BMS vs. Knoxville.
Just so you know..... South Dakota DLC is just a small piece of Brennen's business enterprises. So on the surface it may look like it will hurt but in the big picture.... Not so much.

There are some cars on the National 360 ASCS circuit that were at Knoxville sometimes.

Chuck Brennan has not 'bought' any drivers. He has paid a decent purse, which Knoxville should have been doing for the past several years, he offers a travel assistance program, an incentive for drivers that Knoxville also should have thought of and you are correct something smells. Knoxville / NSL announced a 'bonus' of a five thousand dollar first place AFTER Badlands had already posted the five thousand to win purse. That move by Knoxville/NSL was a thinly disguised attempt to hurt Brennan and Badlands. It did not work and in fact it probably made Brennan more aggressive in his promoting skills. The NSL 'bonus' initative was later dumped when the five thousand to win had to be a MEMBER OF THE NSL and the local Knoxville regulars were upset and rightfully so. Placing the blame on the Knoxville car count is not Brennan and Badlands it is Knoxville for not reacting to what Brennan said last year. Knoxville should have recognized the threat at that time and made some changes. The affiliation with the NSL was a dismal failure as low car counts have plaged that group and Knoxville did not recognize that as a unacceptable alternative and now it seemingly is to late. The Marion County Fairboard should probably huddle and find a workable solution or the possibility is not out of the question that the annual Knoxville Sprint Car Nationals will be the only event on the famous race track. If you or anybody has bothered to research Mr Brennan and his stature in the world of finance you would know that Chuck Brennan, who has earned his wealth with a strictly legimate business in several states, is not in the least bit interested in a profit return from Badlands Motor Speedway. Mr. Brennan could easily erase the national debt, balance the U.S. budget, feed the third world and have enough left over to buy West Virginia.

Dakob, you stated that Chuck Brennan could erase the national debt, balance the budget, and feed the third world and still have money left, he must be richer than Trump and the Clintons..That is a lot of money..Hope things work out for Knoxville and Badlands..Don't want to lose another track..Knoxville is a long drive for me, but Sioux Falls is only about 8 hours..Still a long drive but will do it at least once this year..

He's paid for drivers, that's for sure. Not saying he's not a good businessman, because he is and what he's doing is working..for now. Long term though? I don't know that it will work in the long term.. For you to say he's good with just throwing money away at this and not at least turning a profit/breaking even @ some point is still ridiculous. He didn't make all his money by being an idiot. And with that being said, do you think what he's doing is good for racing? Trying to kill one track instead of helping the sport overall? He's helped a few select drivers, but not many more.
It has hurt car count in Knoxville so far, and it will take a little bit to build it back up. They needed a kick in the ass, and the fairboard could go away altogether and that'd be awesome. To say that we wouldn't have 20 cars and be able to have a weekly series though, and have one single race a year, that won't happen.
NSL needs to get it figured out or fold, simple as that. Tod's track is doing fine, because they race on Friday. Hopefully Kendra can get things headed in the right direction, I think she'll be able to make more of an impact beginning next year.

The track you stated he collapsed on purpose had already pulled the plug on its life support system, his crowds were non- existent, his car count was pathetic, his purse has been stagnate for years, hell even the door bangers quit going. He dropped the 360 and he was done along with his attitude sealed his own fate. So get your facts straight, or do you help right the headlines for Fox News???? NSL goes away???? I don't really see any negatives except for the drivers paychecks.
What really amazes me is how everyone thinks that Brennan is the total bad guy and suddenly Tod is worshipped as a God. If anyone has hurt Knoxville its Tod and his NSL.....and his two track "NATIONAL SERIES with a couple others sprinkled in!!!""
I await the "bought NSL & Knoxville posters responses.....

FORD97- Don't read anything into this, I'm just asking- do you live in the Sioux Falls area? The way you refered to the newspaper made me think so.

No, Murph, he lives in the Des Moines area. Regular Knoxville attendee.

Went to Knoxville Saturday and watched 3 classes of sprinters, saw some good racing, and was out of there at a decent time. No complaints here and as a fan don't really give a crap about the pissing match going on.

Right or write?
So he comes in with the sole purpose of burying every track in the area, and he isn't a bad guy? Just wanted to clear that up..
I never said Tod's thing was good at this moment! If he wanted to pay 5,000.00 each Saturday @ Knoxville, he should have just bought that track and hired someone to run it as well. It isn't a traveling series anymore, I never said it was. The NSL may be hurting us overall, but I would bet they're working on that. The 5,000.00 to win each Saturday night is most definitely helping until Knoxville can get it's own ducks in a row and make our purse just as deep (sponsorships being acquired, etc.)
Biggest downside is we don't have someone with as much money as Chuck, because I can guarantee you if Knoxville had someone with that kind of money owning it, Husets would no longer exist. Knoxville could take a play from his playbook and have some concerts, and other events/series appearances. You've got a 30,000 seat venue and a huge infield and don't utilize it? Regardless, drivers are loyal in this sport (save a few) and fans are too, and a lot of them don't appreciate the way he went about things.
That's where I am coming from, I wish a lot of those drivers success, I can understand why most are driving there. For most, it's closer to home, why wouldn't they race there?
As for the field of cars..yes you had 37. But outside of a top 10 that is no deeper than Knoxville's group, who'd you really have? Some 360's driving with the 410's? Big deal.

That sounds good to me but I made a 3 & 10 year old a promise to take them to Adventureland on Saturday so Husets is out of the Question.
